Stephon Gilmore is expected to practice with Panthers this week

Cornerback Stephon Gilmore has been a member of the Panthers for a couple of weeks, but he hasn’t been on the field with his new team yet.

Gilmore was on the Patriots’ physically unable to perform list at the time of the trade and remained on it once he got to Carolina, so he’s been ineligible to practice or play for the first six weeks of the season. We’ve reached that point in the calendar and Gilmore is reportedly set to start working.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Gilmore, who tore his quad last season, is expected to practice with the team this week. Once he does practice, the team will have three weeks to activate him or shut him down for the rest of the year.

Gilmore’s long absence from the field may make it a long shot for him to play against the Giants in Week Seven, but Gilmore’s Panthers debut should be coming fairly soon.

Dan Arnold is catching passes and winning games with the Jaguars. Where is CJ and Gilmore? Going to role them out when the season is lost?

Great front office and coaching. Take away a safety outlet for a new QB and add players who are doing nothing for the defense.

How to fail 101

Yes, his 28 yds/GM and zero TD's have really been the thing that has ground our offense to a halt.

    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
    • Uh oh, Nicole Tepper hugged him. In all seriousness though every time I see more about him my hopes get higher. Smart, great attitude, prototype size and measurables, and athletic. He could be a great one.
