.. that what they did yesterday, was the exact reason some of us support them.

 

Yes they made terrible decision, yes they TRIED, because lets not forget, the previous regime did NOT try. At least this regime tried to find other avenues and ways, but coming back full circle with Cam. What they accomplished from Thursday to Friday's rehearsal practice. Joe Brady showed us that not only he is a football Genius, but the man has common sense. Something we can all say is just as valuable as having a cerebral offensive mind. 

 

I just hope they ease Cam in. I know a lot of people will say "you don't pay cam to be the back up, you don't pay him 10 mill...' Yada yada. please don't bring money into this. .It doesn't matter how much he is getting paid, the man was eating cereal just last week, had literally a day and a half to prepare and executed masterfully. Joe Brady, whatever he did, whether he made a micro playbook for him or took existing plays and adapted them to Cam, did a wonderful job in short time span. 

 

Right now, they need to use more common sense. Rivera knows Cam, he's got 10 years worth of Intel on him... pump the breaks on the Cam taking over full time right now.. I honestly believe the correct call would be to, again make some plays for Cam and have PJ move that ball. Whether we like it or not Having both QB's out there gives us the better chance at winning. Egos are aside here, one goal, one mind, Just fight, and Win. Whatever it takes. The playoffs started for us yesterday.

I still believe in Rhule, mainly because he seems very adaptable, acknowledges mistakes and moves on fairly quickly from them, and that's a breath of fresh air compared to the stubbornness from a lot of coaches. He and Fitts have revamped the roster and our defense and skill positions on offense look great. If they get the QB and OLine situation fixed, look out, because what they've done with the other 80% of the roster has been great. 

I wouldn't want to be judged based on one and a half years into a rebuild, so I extend him that leverage as far as my judgement goes.

I get the don’t start CAM NeWTon train but who do we start then?  PJ walker or Barkley is not the answer. I get If we have a young prospect or a proven veteran on the team but we don’t.  Other than CAm the answer this year may not be on the roster.  Trust me if you play In this league long enough every team defense will know your weaknesses that’s what tapes are for. I see Pj walker playing 65% and cam playing 35% of the snaps next week

You're over-thinking the Rivera angle.

The questions you should be asking are these:  "Is there anything PJ Walker can do that Cam cannot?" and "Is there anything PJ Walker does better than Cam?"  If you answer "No" to both those questions, Cam starts.  Period.

IF we start Cam, it should have nothing to do with Ron Rivera being on the other sideline.  Lest we forget, most of what Ron knows about Cam is based on Mike Shula's "offense".  This is a Joe Brady offense.  It is up to Joe Brady to call a game that works to break those trends that Rivera may or may not know or expect.

I have never seen a front office with this much business agility. I am 100% in support of it. It is clear why Tepper hired Rhule. Rhule understands the fail fast fail often model. Which is how you get to success quicker. 

It's amazing to see this in action in a professional sport.

The coaching staff knows football I think it was obvious from the start of the year with how well the defense played.

What they struggle with is personnel and player decisions.

Rhule should have never been given control of the team. That poo never works out and it nearly got his ass canned.

Luckily Tepper stepped in and made an executive decision.

It’s cliche but if everyone does their job then this team should be fine.

Let Tepper be the owner, Fit be the GM, Rhule be the coach, and the players play.

Lol I wouldn't say brady is a genius but he definitely gave me some optimism in his coaching abilities after yesterday's win

This is what I've been saying the whole time. They are not stuck in their ways like Rivera and continue with their failed plan no matter what. They make changes when needed and at least try to fix issues. Although, I can't agree with Brady as a genius. His play calling is still suspect.

You just got back together after a two year hiatus and a bad, bad break up where you went out and found not one, but two new folks. 

Maybe we should have more than a first reunion date before we set a wedding date for this bunch. Let's let it marinate a bit and see where it goes.

      I feel like this trade just lives rent free in people's heads and keeps morphing into different things. First thing is that the rumored trade was for future firsts. They wouldn't have any extra picks in 2023; the firsts would have been for 2024 and 2025. With very few exceptions, NFL GMs don't value picks that far away. You have to have a lot of job security to pull that off. Like Chiefs, Eagles, Rams kinda stability. That's obviously not the case with David Tepper, especially since he'd just fired his head coach. No GM except for like Howie Roseman is going to trade an asset you have now for a future asset you probably get to use.  Second, at the time you'd have to assume these are first rounders late in the first round. Obviously currency is currency and the panthers need young players, but these weren't slam dunk top ten picks. At the end of the day there's one pick that separates a first and second round pick.  Lastly, the only place that ever reported this trade was the Rams. All the reporters just repeated what McVay said and it became gospel. We have no idea how serious the negotiations were, if they ever really happened, if the offer was real, etc. And I personally believe McVay and Sneed are the kind of guys who would make up rumors like that to fug up other teams, mostly because I assume if I've thought of it someone smarter than me has.  I don't know how you'd call it the greatest draft haul of all time. Firsts quickly lose their value the farther out they are and Burns had 16.5 sacks last season. And anyway those picks would probably just been tossed into the burning inferno of the Bryce trade up so it's a moot point anyway.
