Huddle Reaction to Rhule’s Hiring

This will happen with any coach, fans want hope, and they're going to overlook a lot of issues for it.

Hindsight is 20/20, and I think the biggest take away here is that the NFL isn't college. Just look at Urban Meyer and Nick Saban. Regardless of how you feel about them as people, they couldn't translate college success to the NFL. And I think that very much applies to Rhule, and his assembly of all college coaches should have been a huge red flag.

Rhule clearly doesn't understand the difference between coaching kids, and professionals. It's a different ball game when you're no longer the father figure, or "head honcho" of the team, and have to treat people as equals.

There were some good threads about candidates leading up to Tepper picking rhule. I didn’t want him because I didn’t think the preacher rah rah poo would work on pro athletes but you always hope for the best because it sucks to suck. If everyone is being honest last year he coached extremely well. We went toe to toe with playoff teams and were in every game and games we had no business being in from lack of talent. That chiefs game was great coaching. I really thought he was gonna be special after that. Once Darnold unraveled so did the coaching. Which is of course all on them.

I'm not reading all that. What did I say?

You know nothing Jon Snow

I found it.  Jon Snow stated “ I love Matt Rhule.  Half man, half god, half possible centaur.  I give you my word.  The Jon Snow stamp of approval.  He is the guy.  We did it everyone!”

    • I think Bryce balls out again and the Panthers win in a close one.  Panthers will have a defender shadow CMC the whole game so I expect he'll be contained to under 100 yards.
    • yeah, Steve was basically like on any actual topic that approached his flaws/problems.....89 went with the long winded, try to sound like a wise man strategy of just basically just pleading the 5th (and sprinkling in the idea that others could of been wrong or wrong too).   also, in terms of the assaults and stuff like that....it feels like old 89, I feel has sort of forgotten his well-documented confessions and apologies about that aspect and era of his and was trying to re-write his story/image in hindsight.   And in all honesty, it seemed like a PR move on the twitter/cheating stuff also attempting to play himself as not the bad guy some think with the intentional vague suggestions. and the Pivot and all these athlete moves to basically take the reigns and power from traditional outlets exposes they have just as bad as flaws if not more often than the traditional media folks.  I mean I do like the free form long talk when dudes are telling stories but all this stuff is largely flawed and controlled PR often.
    • Sadly, I agree and I’m a huge Melo fan. Might be time to ship him out. Don’t want to make the same mistakes the Pels did. They should’ve gotten rid of Zion two years ago.
