That’s fine. Horn is going to be a great player and a foundational piece to our defense.

That said, we didn’t miss him at all and witnessed first hand how quickly you can replace/mask that piston.

Slater would have been the better pick.

We didn't miss Horn??? WTF

What was the intent behind this appearance? Like why show the public your excuses and ineptitude? This is the one thing where less is more and it’s to soften the poo flying around.  Speak to your decisions being the right ones and stand by what you’ve done.

He just made it all so much more dramatic and ridiculous.

Horn eventually would have taken his lumps in the second half of the season just like the rest of our corners with our offense failing to sustain so many drives. The offense desperately needs an infusion of talent and if 2021 didn't confirm that for you then nothing will.

Horn is a dog whether you want to believe it or not.. I promise Terry Mclaurin doesn't have the 1st half against Horn he did against DJax..  Smith in the Philly Game doesn't get off with Horn.. Armanti doesn't make that play on Horn he made on Henderson..

I agree the offense needed help but Horn was missed.. And he will be like Ramsey for us ..

To be fair and honest, he also said something that is missing from the quote. He said that because Slater had missed the prior year and he did not have the ideal measurable they were not comfortable taking him ahead of Penai or Jaycee. He did not say that they would not have taken Slater if the other two were not there.

Slater was not in play at all for the 8th. They showed the shortlist in the war room video

Penei Sewell (Went 7th)
Jaycee Horn (8th)
Patrick Surtain (9th)
Jaylen Waddle (6th)
DeVonta Smith (10th)

    • Apparently CSW lost his starting job to Thornton last year. If he can stay healthy I bet Thornton keeps that NB position.
    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
