The 49ers have a pretty good roster in place that will be playoff ready for the foreseeable future I don't see them moving Jimmy unless they are very comfortable with Lance and that seems still far off. Besides going from Teddy Bridgewater to Sam Darnold is bad enough. I would rather just suck for another year with what we've got.

Yep at least its a plan instead of trying another scrub qb out that we most certainly would have to deal for and most certainly have to redo his deal

What have you "heard" because my people I listen to say there is no way they move on from Jimmy without knowing 100% Lance is ready.  And right now based on his last time playing he aint ready.

Bill Simmons and Ben Solak discuss the options that both parties have.  Its an interesting scenario

I'll give you the fact that there's a lot of speculation based on the hypothetical of what I already told you; his fate largely depends upon whether he can win the Super Bowl. That being said, I don't believe that the odds are in his favor. And still, there is way more information to the contrary based upon what's actually going on if you're to believe other insiders and people who know the team.

I dont think he is anywhere close to ready and nowhere near as good as jimmy g.  They have him on a deal they probably will just keep him as insurance

I think he will be many times better than Jimmy G. Jimmy is an average QB. Lance has ultra high potential and works to get better every day. I believe he will be a franchise QB whenever he gets the reigns.

He's better than anything we have that's for sure. But no, he won't come here. If they truly want to run with Lance even though JG has them in the Playoffs, they'll get a better deal from someone else. We just don't have enough to trade, nor should we trade for him. He's not a franchise QB and would die here.

I've never hated the Jimmy G idea, but, we are not in that position.  IF we didn't have Darnold under contract, or IF he was under contract at about $5M a year, it would make some sense.  Garoppolo is  not going to make 49ers fans forget Montana or Young, but he can hold down the fort until the future starter comes along (exhibit A is the 9ers situation right now).....provided you can keep him on the field.

Add IF our coaching staff develops game plans and calls plays to his strengths, which remains to be seen.  While I think Brady was in over his head as an OC, his philosophy was more tailored to that than whoever we are likely to bring in next.

Which brings us to another IF.  Our OL could get Refrigerator Perry killed back there.  So the added IF is that our OL mess gets fixed or at least stabilized.  Given his injury history, Jimmy G raises the bar to needing to remain upright, from on his back but nobody is calling for the the stretcher.  We struggle even to hit the latter.

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
