Panthers have reached out to Minnesota for Kirk Cousins

I'm not saying I want us to trade for Cousins, because I don't.  But he's definitely way better than mediocre.  124 TDs to 36 INTs since 2018.

Even if you argue he is not as good as the numbers he puts up, and I think there is a fair argument there, he's still a lot better than mediocre.  Cousins to me is in that 12-14 range for QBs, which is pretty good.  And for all his faults, he was far from the reason the Vikings missed the playoffs last year.

The 12-14 range IS mediocre.  He put up big numbers.  So what.  That offense is absolutely stacked, and he has not shown the ability to win the big games.

Trading assets to then pay a guy top 3 money to be a 12-14 QB is just madness.  It's objectively bad.

I wasn’t advocating for Cousins, just saying that it wouldn’t likely to be the same cost as Stafford.

Not for your average NFL team, but I wouldn't put it past Rhule and whoever else gets to make the decision to overpay. Vikings fans think we should swap 1sts and send them Darnold, maybe a 2023 3rd rounder. Then they figure out something to do with Darnold..

Cousins is a nightmare scenario because he’s good enough to be around .500 and take us out of contention for a top rookie QB.

I’d rather stick with Darnold and tank or even draft Pickett because at least a rookie could morph into something unexpected sometimes.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
