So I was messing around with the Spotrac.com roster manager tool playing with different scenarios involving a Watson trade and I was surprised to find that our short-term cap situation could actually improve as a result of a trade.

This would largely depend on Sam Darnold being part of the deal and on Watson agreeing to restructure his deal once the trade is official, as well as some additional restructures of existing players (CMC, Robby Anderson) but if the numbers on this site are correct then we could trade for Watson and with a few restructures end up with $40M or so in cap space.
