I will be honest--If DW does not want Carolina, we should not want him.  Take the hint and start building the OLine and Dline,  Let's see what Darnold does with protection--he has never really had it---and let's move on.  Not quitting, but I am not worrying about it...we do not want to trade a king's ransom for an unhappy camper.

He isn’t going to do anything with protection because he’s a bad football player

So what if Houston wants the Carolina trade but Watson prefers playing for New Orleans--how much leverage will Houston have and use?  Are they going to take less to placate Watson?  I think they play hardball with Watson like they have so far--if they have been unwilling to negotiate down, why would they now?

Carolina’s package maybe be better but it won’t be by much. I think New Orleans ends up being the compromise between Watson and Houston

I think it’s hard to look at any updates, because it’s hard for people to remember that while the Texans and Watson have to work together, they are not on the same side. It is in the Texans’ best interest to get the best offer from as many teams as possible that aren’t a detriment to them (i.e. in the division/conference). It’s in Watson’s best interest to be somewhere he wants to be. No coincidence that at this point, Deshaun has entertained every southeast team that is in a position to make an offer in the NFC.

If you’re the Texans you are pushing for him to give you a list of teams, so you can THEN leverage each of those teams for the best offer. No way the Texans give up that leverage by giving HIM a list of teams to choose from. If that was the case, he could just say “I want X team” and the Texans would have to take the best deal from that team, giving that team all the leverage. The Texans also don’t want to take the cap hit this year so they need him gone.

And if it weren’t the case, then Watson wouldn’t be talking to multiple teams. Texans need at least 2-3 teams to play ball in this, which they have. So it doesn’t matter who Deshaun wants the MOST, only who he is willing to go to. Then the Texans can make them fight it out for the best offer.

I will cut off my right nut before I go through another year of “this year Darnold will be good because he finally has _____ “

@LinvilleGorgewhy do yall let these obvious trolls stay?

Trolling: to antagonize (others) online by deliberately posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments or other disruptive content.

Irony: a literary technique by which the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.

The Gary Cobb of JAKIB SportS

He’s a legit former Eagles player and current Eagles reporter/analyst.

Doesn’t mean anything though as plenty of others with similar connections have been saying a ton of stuff.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
