Bet they draft Pickett

Could happen he is the most ready “supposedly”.  I hope they hire or speak to expert QB scouts and make the right call.  Even if it is NO QB

If they draft someone need to be sure he is better than Darnold.  lol

I think they will go with BC at LT and might give Brown, Elflein, and Jordan a shot at LG....if we do not take a QB, we will trade back.

To your point, there was a tweet that said the Panthers are not interested in Baker Mayfield (because the head coach and QB can't both have immaturity issues).  Seriously, it could mean that they are not interested in the free agency market.
I still see us dealing for Minshew--(what I wanted them to do last year, when he was cheaper).

No. The plan is to not have to force a pick for a specific position. This gives Carolina the full panoply of options. I still believe they would like to trade down if the right deal is there, but this opens them up to take a pass rusher, a tackle, a quarterback, or yes, a cornerback depending on the value.

Bozeman also has a ton of LG experience, so it's possible too they go BC - Bozeman - Elflein - Corbett - Moton with Erving as a swing guy. Which, really, is a pretty nice OL. Gives you the option of drafting a LT, kicking Bozeman and BC inside one spot, and moving Elflein to your interior OL swing.

No upside to drafting a QB just to draft one. If they are not convinced that he is "the one', then don't do it. Much rather they choose a younger guy with NFL experience and some upside. There is a couple on the market who fit that bill. He doesn't have to be a barn burner, a Jake D. type can get the job done.

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
