The colts getting Ryan for a third round pick was likely due to a combination of factors. For example, his contract, age and recent production would likely have been a big factor. There’s also the possibility that they sold low as a thank you for the years of service, especially after they pursued Watson.

Quite why we paid as much as we did for Darnold is still a mystery. The picks this year should always have been provisional picks based on appearances and production.
