The Bills' transformation since McDermott's hire in January 2017 could be taught in a college-level course on how to rebuild a franchise. McDermott helped to hire Beane in May of that year, and they've hit every right note since: from big trades (Stefon Diggs, moving up for Josh Allen) and savvy draft picks (Tre'Davious White, Dion Dawkins, Matt Milano) to knowing which veterans to reward (Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde) and when to move on (John Brown, LeSean McCoy). The Bills have a defensive coach, yet prioritized building an offensive roster around Allen. They always seem to find value in free agency (SEE: this year's pickups of Jamison Crowder, O.J. Howard, Rodger Saffold, DaQuan Jones and Duke Johnson).

No team is doing it better, and these two -- along with Allen -- deserve credit for helping to get funding for a new Bills stadium.

And that's pretty much why the Bills have become my "other" team.

Beane is an acquaintance of mine--played QB at South Stanly High School (a student of a good friend of mine) and went to UNC W.  For a few years, we were getting our cars inspected at the same time and talked for a few minutes when he was with the Panthers (early on).  In fact, I used to bump into Mike Turgovac (sp?) around town as well. But Brandon never seemed that smart--just average.  Of course, he is no Marty Hurney.  (By the way--Beane liked Marty Hurney and the team president--forgot his name).

Stupidest move this team made was letting Beane go. Sean was going to go no matter what, he was too good not to get an HC job. But Beane was our hand picked, hand groomed prodigy that JR let walk opting for literal trash instead.

and Hurney - Rivera would be  better than Rhule - Fitterer

could you imagine where we would have been had we fired Hurney and Rivera and replaced them with Beane and McDermott?

Richardson did not want Beane to leave. He was being considered to replace Hurney, but Richardson wanted him to be groomed some more. Hurney left with the expectation that Rivera would remain the HC and Beane would become GM. So, Gettleman was suppose to be the bridge to Beane. Wouldn't you know it, Gettleman spoke to the Bills and gave Beane a glowing recommendation. Bills hire Beane. Richardson learns what Gettleman did and fires Gettleman shortly after he pulled that stunt to get rid of his competition. So, with Beane gone thanks to Gettleman hoping he would have security with Beane out of the picture, Richardson went back to Hurney. Richardson was upset with losing Beane to the Bills. Gettleman blindsided Richardson.

That is the real legacy of Gettlemagic. The Bills seem to be the only team to have been rewarded with success due to Gettleman's decisions. Better luck next time Panthers and Giants.

We're a farm team. Other teams pluck us of our talent and send guys who aren't working out for them down to us for continued development in the way of playing time where they can continue to evaluate from afar. That's what Tepper has turned us into.

Don't forget pouncing on the opportunity to pay third tier OL in the opening moments of free agency paving the way to fielding arguably the worst OL in the NFL. Oh, and trading a 3rd round pick for a bust of a former top 10 pick CB. Oh, and extending Robby Anderson and paying him like a top tier NFL WR. Oh, and trading a good starting LB for a late round draft pick to field trash at LB. 

I'm all for Fitterer following Rhule right on our the door when Tepper is ready to admit this collosal mistake.
