He said he 'wasn't going to get into specifics', but he did mention some 'players on defense' and perhaps Burns specifically (was multi-tasking).

Blech. It does not take 5 years in the NFL to 'build a foundation'.

The only ‘foundation’ you can build in the nfl is finding a stud QB. Everyone else (coaches and players) have short lives in the league.

Said Rhule is building a foundation that he knew would take five years. Then he said heck, maybe 6 years.

I feel sick.

Building or destruction? Seems like the later. The Panthers aren't a damn expansion team! Building what? A perennial Appaloser? We were NOT every year losers before more like every other year losers. From mediocre to pathetic. Tepper is pathetic as an owner.

Dom, Fox, and Rivera all were in the postseason by year 3.  And all had built better teams by the end of year 2 than Rhule.

Tepper was right about 1 thing today.  He is an idiot.

I'm not even saying Rhule or any other coach has to blow the doors off immediately, just look competent and like they're learning and evolving. Rhule has done neither and it sure doesn't take 5 years to show.

    • when we drafted Bryce Young that team might have been more talented than the team we currently have ?  that was the whole reasoning behind morgagting  our immediate future to trade up to #1 overall for BY. our front offices & owners felt like hey guess what the time is now to srike while the iron is hot go hire an All Star coaching staff we were only a Qb away from taking that next step ..just saying
    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
