if Carolina tanks another season, do they use their 1st on a qb in next years draft?

Probably if Corral struggles big time.  He will be given every chance.  When we picked Pickles and gave a chance to shine, he proved right away he’s not the guy.

Depends if Corral gets a chance to actually play. If he does well and holds up, then go with a more pressing need. Having two rookie QB's as potential starters on the roster really is redundant if he turns out to be the guy.

A competent backup would be the need.

I heard on a podcast suggesting we start Corral sooner rather than later.
If he does well we have our starting QB of the future. If he doesn’t then we do poorly, Rhule is fire and we draft high enough to get a QB.

I think that depends on how Corral looks if he plays and if Tepper fires Rhule and there is demand from him and the new coach to draft a QB. Fitts seems to love the idea of drafting his own Russell Wilson, so I think he'll be inclined to trade the pick or select another elite prospect instead while giving his guy(Corral) another year to develop.

The problem there is if Sam Dawnold manages to win a few games before getting exposed. Then we have a BC situation all over again with Corral.

4. I'd like to remind everyone that for a LT to step in and be good right away is very rare. Most struggle for at least a few games if not an entire season. Heck, Jordan Gross started at RT his rookie year for this very reason.

Icky's top tier intelligence will help him quite a bit here, I imagine.

I think Darnold is done here.  He might not even start week 1 if Corral shines.

Of course. They dropped a future third on corral that’s nothing.

unles he somehow plays amazing and they still eat poo, but if we get amazing qb play we’re not drafting high.

unless like the entire defense is on a different plane or something

    • RIGHT NOW?  He has work to do.  If anyone would like to explain how any other lineman in this draft has a higher ceiling, I am all ears. I remember when we drafted Gross.  He was not ready for LT, so we played him at RT.  I recall Peppers eating him alive in practices.  I recall thinking, "We drafted a bust from Utah."   He too had a high ceiling.  First rounders get five year deals (in theory)  If years 2-5 are elite as opposed to years 1-5 being average, give me the slow rookie season.   If you are relying on rookies to take you to the promise land, you ain't going to the promise land.  I see Freeling playing a lot this year, one way or another.
    • Yeah no freshman offensive lineman is starting at UGA. Thats not a hit on him.
    • Yeah but bro how many Georgia games do you watch a year? I’m not trying to be dismissive or whatever, I’m seriously asking.  Kirby Smart Murder Ball is running it until the other team is dead then throw off play action. That stat is very misleading. also who’s the best pass rusher he went up against this season that got drafted in the first round? I guess just glancing at it would have been that kid from auburn which….ok
