If I was making the decision? 50% -75% based as long as he doesn't look completely lost during training camp and the preseason.

If Matt Rhule is making the decision? Less than 25% regardless of how he looks during training camp and the preseason.

Unless he 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt proves he's the man for the job in training camp, then Sam should be starting week 1. Rookie QBs tend to not do so hot when immediately thrown to the wolves.

I'm interested in seeing a healthy Sam behind a good line in preseason. If he succeeds, he'll probably start week 1. Letting Corral ease into it is best for everyone, if Sam can play well enough to be a space holder.

Well, PJ is undefeated as a starter!

Edit: just to be clear, this response was added for levity. I'm not a PJ Walker guy. Corral should be starting as soon as possible.

If the "the rookie wall" and "benefitting from a year in an NFL weightroom" sentiments are legit, an ideal scenario might be getting to the 9 game mark, then starting Corral and going on a possible run if we're above .500 at that point. The qualifying variables being, 1.) How Sam looks 2.) Does McAdoo think Corral is ready

I voted 50-75%.  I truly believe he is going to really shine in preseason.  That said Sam is going to have to lose the job.  He's the #1 QB going into camp.  If he settles in behind our new offensive line he could hold off Matt.

I love Corral's fire.  He seems to have more of a fire to him than Sam.  Players seem to gravitate to him.  He's a good leader and that may be his trump card.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
