Sad, but Corral just became a millionaire, do they really need a gofundme right now trying to get donations from people scraping by with all this inflation?

Corral likely isn't a millionaire just yet.

They don't pay him his entire salary just for signing his rookie contract.

I don't know what the financial situation is like for the families involved, but I am curious when seemingly "well off" folks create gofundme's.

Man, that sucks.

As far as a gofundme, the reality is that children are incredibly expensive.  Those children are going to need income to survive, even in a family's care.  I have no problem with it.  We don't know the details of their lives, and that's a much bigger issue at hand.

As far as Matt's money, outside of his signing bonus, which is going to have to repay his agents and lots of post college draft prep, he's not as rich as we all think.  There's also no certainty that Matt gets that big second contract.  Heck, that he starts anytime this year.

Yeah, losing family is horrible.

No he didn’t.  He is a 3rd round pick.  3rd round rookie deals are like 800k ish and I don’t think contain guaranteed money….and you get that money weekly during the actual season.   Then factor in taxes on that.   He ain’t taking all actually home.   He ain’t rolling in dough yet.

there are huddlers with more cash on hand than Corral right now.   People can do what they want with their money.  3 small kids lost their mom.   Kids are super expensive.

Can’t go around and dismissing the idea that no one needs help because they got an okay 2nd cousin somewhere out there.

Matt's also mentioned on IG posts about paying off family debt once drafted. Anyone assuming the family asking for a modest $10k for 3 children to have some stability while figuring out which parent or sibling can afford to take them in is some kind of cash grab, pretty low

    • Another source: NFL Rumors: Hakeem Butler to Visit Panthers After UFL Success, Wade Phillips' Praise ZACH BACHAR JUNE 10, 2024 The Carolina Panthers are expected to conduct a workout with UFL wide receiver Hakeem Butler, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Butler recorded a league-leading 652 receiving yards as a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks. He was previously a fourth-round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019. After the Battlehawks were defeated by the San Antonio Brahmas in the XFL Conference title game, Brahmas head coach and longtime NFL coach Wade Phillips told the receiver that "I'm going to tell everybody in the NFL that I talk to that you need to be playing," via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. Despite the loss by St. Louis, Butler still hauled in six receptions for a team-high 59 receiving yards. The 28-year-old was named the 2024 UFL Offensive Player of the Year, as he was one of only two wideouts to have multiple games with at least 100 receiving yards. While the Panthers added Diontae Johnson and first-round rookie Xavier Legette to their wide receiver room in the offseason, they could still use some depth in the form of Butler. Carolina isn't opposed to picking up former UFL players, as Rapoport revealed on Thursday that the team is also "expected" to sign All-UFL receiver Daewood Davis. Although Butler was selected by the Cardinals in the 2019 draft, he did not play as a rookie due to a hand injury and only appeared in two regular-season games as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. He did not record a catch. Butler signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2023 offseason, although he ultimately didn't make the team's regular-season roster. At 6'5", he has the frame to potentially make an impact in training camp and earn a shot at making Carolina's 53-man roster. If his workout goes well with the Panthers, Butler could give himself another chance to possibly return to the NFL.
    • They have all the rookies. The DC game has Ron though. With the new QB. It is weird.  pantherclaw, Bryce sort of is what he is, and in Madden he makes throws the real Bryce can’t make. Here and there. He ain’t ain’t a top QB in Madden though, lots of picks. aone of them lol was the throw that scares the hell out of me when he throws it, out to the boundary... quack quack.
