Rhule pretty much said Baker = good and the other QB did some things.  Im paraphrasing but he definitely came up short on complimenting Darnold. It's fair to assume the decision has already been made.

Darnold has shown his true colors, and Rhule is showing his.

I remember toward the end of last season when Rhule (and Fitt, really) were damned near showing disdain for Darnold (if you read between the lines). Then, after seeing how horrible the O-line was, Rhule kind of let up on him.

Short of a Baker meltdown during the preseason games, this competition is over. Darnold just doesn't have it in him.

Ickey Brady Bozeman Corbett Moton

is my ideal starting OL.

Sure would've been great to see Brady play LT for the last part of last year since that's his natural and best position. Alas though, in Rhule's infinite wisdom...

I get that people have egos, I just don't get why fantasy advice, a game many football players dislike, would upset them. That is unless they have a partnership or something and get paid based on usage which I'd be almost certain does not exist.

Idk?  My best guess would be that these guys look for inspiration wherever they can.  Some guys get juice from perceived slights.  I remember another WR we had that would use any excuse to get aggro.

    • It's been many a year since we were in December talking about how games mattered for something other than draft order. This crazy, mixed up, unpredictable, maddening, uplifting and teeth gnashing season has certainly not been boring.
    • If you look at Brown and Horn's contracts, expect to pay above what he is likely actually worth. This is the Panthers suckage tax. Ultimately, much like Derrick Brown, he has steadily improved over time and that's what you want out of your young first round draft picks. He was one of the biggest and most important question marks coming into the season and he has answered it conclusively. He is "the guy" at LT. Great news, one less position of extreme importance to have to attempt to remedy.
    • This is maddening because, well, it's so up and down. When the kid's on, he can be great. When he's mediocre, we can still win based on a strong running game and good defense. When he's bad, and over his history he's this more than not, then it's a sad show that no one could win with. How can anyone know what is going to happen right now? Really. It's like picking one flake in a snow globe and shaking it once a week... there is no telling where it will end up. Things I did see on Sunday from Bryce: his teammates love him; he can make the big throws with good protection and good effort from his receivers. He isn't afraid to run. He can rise up against the best in competition (but he can also sink to the level of bad competition).  All I can say is if Canales goes with an aggressive game plan for Bryce that leans on a hot-hand running game, the team can beat anyone. If there's any wishy-washy play calling, then Bryce melts and couldn't beat anyone.  Maybe the person Bryce needs to win over more than anyone is Canales.
