People are eating up tweets from bozos about the team refusing to play Corral at the same time we are being told he's playing half the game and had second most snaps last week.  It's bizarro world where facts simply don't matter to people.

Where did you see that Corral got the second most snaps in practice this week? I don't recall seeing that anywhere.

I think he means in the preseason game, when it was 4th stringers who aren't making the team getting blitzed repeatedly because WFT was trying to win

I’m sure we can eat 99% of his contract and get like a future 7th for him.

At this point even if you can't trade him for a bag of chips.. Take the hit and move on.. Tepper had no problem paying Teddy to play for the Broncos.. Pay Sam to go surf..

This is what I think as well. Darnold will be traded or cut at the 53. Mayfield, PJ, Corral will be our QB room, and I'm okay with that. QB competition needs to be already over and Darnolds reps should go down to nearly nothing.

Unlike Macadoo, I keep my crystal ball on me at all times. 😁

This may very well be the case.  I do think that PJ is better than Sam.

We are on the hook for Sam's contract no matter what.  I'd rather keep PJ and let Sam walk.  This gives Baker that assurance that he's the man and if he screws up they aren't going to pull him for Sam.

When is the last time we cut  a 3rd round draft pick before their rookie season?

Well, I went down the wormhole.

It has occurred only once in Panther history for our 3rd round pick.  We have cut some 5th, 6th, and 7th rounders.

Atiyyah Ellison was let go during final cuts in 2005.

I don't think I'd say PJ is better than Sam, personally, but I don't think there is that much of a difference. The second half of your statement is my thought process as well. Get Sam off the team, Baker is the clear #1 with nobody looking over his shoulder. I don't want a 2 QB thing going on like with Cam and Sam because they couldn't decide who would stink it up less.

True, he got cut but then made PS and eventually the actual roster that season.

LOL I cheated and just looked if they were on the roster that year.  Guess that's why I missed that one.   He showed up on the roster and I missed him.

So that is 2 3rd rounders that got cut.

He must of looked really bad.  He made it through waivers.  Cardinals picked up the guy in 1996.

    • It's rare enough for a running back to tear the same ACL twice. There's not much of a sample size on the recoveries. And of course Dobbins has missed a lot of time--he was injured twice. That number will drop as his career continues, and even if it doesn't, that doesn't necessarily mean it has anything to do with the prior injuries. Dobbins just started and played well for a playoff team all year until he was injured by a hip-drop tackle. Surely his ACL recoveries didn't contribute to his completely random foot injury caused by an illegal tackle? Again, I'm confused why everyone is being so definitive that there's 'very little chance' of any meaningful contribution ever when the greatest counterpoint ever played for us. Thomas Davis tore the same knee over and over again and was basically fine. As for the roster-building stuff, we'll see what happens with Chuba and Dowdle at the end of the year, but Etienne's not going to factor into this. Either Brooks comes back, in which case we've already seen more from him than we have from Etienne, or he doesn't. But Etienne's not forcing him off the team. If anything, Etienne's current role is his absolute floor.
    • Then I would assume disingenuous. Why on earth would you consider this an "exciting" time to be a Panthers fan? Let me ask this, how old are you and how long have you been an NFL fan?
    • An ESPN writer had a good breakdown of teams that were likely to come back to earth(KC and Redskins were two of them) based on outlier results in 2024 in close games. I think that has a lot to do with it. Found it: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46003861/nfl-teams-likely-decline-lose-more-games-2025-season-predictions-vikings-chiefs-commanders-lions-colts
