Keeping 3 QBs #theory

It's fairly obvious the original plan was to keep Baker, Sam, and Corral as the 3 QBs. When asked if they still might keep 3 Rhule didn't rule it out (no pun intended). To most this seems like a way to keep PJ on the roster, but I have a different theory.

What if the team is considering using the spot originally intended for Corral to poach a promising rookie or 1st year QB off another team? Most teams only keep 2 guys and some will try to hide developmental guys on their practice squads. By using the now vacant 3rd QB spot, the team gets an additional swing at the QB position for very low investment while also ensuring we have multiple guys under contract for the near future.

What QB, that is a possible cut candidate, would you want Fit to steal?

You truly are the Anti Hurney. I would love to see something like this happen. No idea on the who, but it beats keeping in PJ, which is probably what's going to happen in the end if we keep 3 QBs.

nah lets just roll with baker and sam.

probably best to do. i mean keep PJ i guess on the practice squad and if he gets picked up by someone 🤷‍♂️.  i mean we'll need someone for the practice squad, but just being real, if it's not Corral and we're down to the 3rd QB...we're kind of screwed anyways.

    • Yuck.  I still kind of like Herbert but these playoff performances are rough....
    • I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.
    • We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
