Props to Phil Snow

Phil Snow has done a good job this season. What the D has done with our lack of offensive production is really impressive.

I don't like Rhule and there are things that Ive questioned about Snow but he has done a good job with that D this year.

The Browns ran well on us but they're the best running team in football. Even with the deficiencies on D it's been the O that has cost us games.

Unless the secondary plays better Snow better realize that leaving Horn, Henderson, and Jackson on islands against better QBs and teams won't always work.

Yeah, he's rattled Jameis twice with all the pressure, blitzes, stunts...but we aren't talking about Rodgers, Allen, Brady, Herbert (who I know is hurt, but still can kill you when healthy).  Hell, even Kurt Cousins and Carr will carve you up sending all that pressure all the time.  Lawrence is starting to look pretty good in Jacksonville too.

Oh you was for real on giving him props! Hmmm, not sure I’m ready just yet. Maybe if….  I don’t know…..  it wasn’t a 1 off event. We have SUCKED for so long that now people are all excited and handing out props for a win against another crappy team. This is how substandard culture takes root!!

like i said i give him props for actually pressuring instead of just letting them dink and dunk and letting them comeback and win. i was seriously thinking we would lose because we have allowed teams to comeback and beat us and not show no pressure but just keep the ball in front of us mentality. Just happy to see a W and us actually put pressure on someone and not let them come back.

Yea thats unless a miracle happens with this offense. McAdoo has to do better with his play calling. Offense is horrible. Literally every week we have one big play that keeps us in the game. Week 1 Robbie deep pass, week 2 it was a big CMC run. This week it was Shenault. If we could get atleast some consistency I think we could win more.

I just don't see that consistency coming.

Snow saved Rhule's ass for another game plain and simple.  I have a sneaky suspicion that could be why Rhule takes him wherever he goes. But they will not be able to keep that approach up for the rest of the season.  The only reason the team came alive was because of the defense.  That turnover and defensive touchdown changed the flow of the entire game. The blitzing sealed it.

I'm betting we win 4 games this year. Two to the Falcons and two to the saints. We might pick up two more with the Broncos and a resting Bucs team but they haven't looked the best and might be fighting for position.

IDK, there is plenty of room for improvement coming up, and our schedule the next few weeks isnt the murderers row it looked like before the season started. We always own AZ, SF is REALLY banged up, and not playing well with Jimmy G, and now their great LT is injured and wont be playing.  The Rams and Bucs have not exactly been lighting it up either.  Its not gonna be easy but we have the chance to get into a rhythm and pick up a few wins.

I believe we have an opportunity to win the next two home games. We’ve had Arizona’s number for a while and Sunday’s weather should slant the game in our favor. San Francisco’s offense is about as putrid as ours and we can win a potential defensive slugfest. We could have a 3-2 record before heading to LA to face the Rams.

    • This is gonna be longest six weeks ever
    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
