This is the worst panthers team in our history

This is recency bias. We suck. But this isn’t the worst we’ve ever been lmao.

Historically speaking, this is the worst.

Prior to the last three seasons, our worst ever stretch was 2000-2002, where we won 15 games.  Might seem like a tie, but 2002 was the first Fox season where Peppers was DROY.  There was hope in that, which was backed up with a Super Bowl team the very next year.

Less than five wins this year and we will be in the worst four season run in team history.  Currently that "record" is 1998-2001, which was the end of the Capers era and the entire Seifert era.

Nothing recent about it.  This is as bad as it gets unless we reach for new lows.

You don't even need to go back to 2001. I don't think people remember just how absolutely dogshit this team was in 2010 outside of the Matt Moore/David Gettis show for one week until Moore got hurt.

Just look at this.

I'm pissed too. I want Rhule gone tomorrow (today would be nice) - I hope he didnt sleep at all and steps in a puddle wearing socks this morning on his way out the door.

But this team isnt the worst we've ever been. Hell, I dont know that it looks worse than we did last year. Maybe just as bad - but idk if I can say its worse.

Yes I am more hopeless than 2001 and 2010. For all his faults, Richardson was a much better owner.

Tepper took a team that made it to two superbowls and made the playoffs every two or three years. He promised no mediocrity. Congratulations we’re the new old Cleveland Browns.

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
