Not to rain on the positivity parade but this Sunday has the makings of a bloodbath.

I appreciate your sticking to that joke, but I look forward to it no longer being the case as well.

I’m a little confused by this post.

anyway, I don’t feel it’s new thread worthy so I’ll just share it here.  Take a look at my new PJ tattoo.

I think all of Carolina knows it was take out the trash on Monday and we all know what the interim tag is and that a new regime will come in

what we also know is Coach Wilks is a pro coach. He will play this bust poker hand as best he can  he isn’t stupid   Lot of things went on in Arizona, a failed number 1 Qb pick for one

these players too, will have a fire lit under their ass if they want to play again as the tape don’t lie

the WRs and TEs on this team leave a lot to be desired compared to others in the NFL   Time to pick it up or move on

I do believe Coach will separate seed from the chaff and despite what many believe, there is a lot of chaff

I think it will be a close game and the numbers seem to support it: https://betiq.teamrankings.com/articles/interim-head-coach-results-first-game-betting-ats-moneyline/

Quote

Early Firings Have Been More Profitable than Late Ones

If you look at that list, you will also see that situations where the coach was fired earlier in the year have been more profitable than later in the year.

  • Five of the six previous interim coach debuts in Week 6 or earlier saw the new coach’s team cover (and win outright).
  • Eight of the 10 interim coaches who took over by Week 12 covered the spread (and won).
  • Interim coaches taking over in Week 13 or later are 6-7 ATS and SU.

Overall Outlook

Since 2010, teams playing their first game for an interim coach have shown value in a limited number of opportunities, particularly earlier in the season. The market may not always react rationally here, if it anticipates that the team who fired a coach is likely to perform worse. Sometimes, the changing of a coach who was struggling (these firings often come after multiple disappointing seasons, or because a team is underperforming) can have a positive impact, or at least not be the negative that it might be perceived to be.

I am in no way, shape or form going into this game thinking we are gonna win. But at least if we lose I will have something to celebrate because we are one game closer to a secured top 5 pick.
Also interm HCs are like college HCs, they rarely every work out and also don’t do anything other than holding down the fort.

If the offense can't move the chains in the 1st half the defense will be gassed in the latter stages of the game................that's one way they lose.

There are a lot of ways the Panthers can lose games from here on out and I have a feeling they will end up exploring every last way to lose whether they like it or not.

Im as thrilled as anybody that Rhule is gone, beyond ecstatic. I am seeing a lot of expectations from the fan base that Wilks is possibly the answer and he will even do so well that he becomes our new HC, don’t get me wrong I like him, I love the story and I would love to see that happen.

But we have to look at facts, we fired Rhule and replaced him with a HC that has a 3-13 record as a HC, starting a 3rd string QB who has 2 TDs 8 ints his time here, with a defense that is banged up and playing under a brand new interim DC.

On top of all this, we are facing a Rams team in a West Coast game across the country that is desperate to be back at .500 before they have their bye week. We are currently 10 point underdogs according to Vegas and they are rarely wrong.

My guess is it will look promising and close the first QTR or 2 but will get out of control fast.
