CMC to the 49ers

The tank is on. This dude just accounted for 75 percent of our offense. He was indeed our leading receiver--well, actually Robbie was technically, since CMC is an RB. We should be fairly sad on offense, and we were already poo.

Yea I mean are we overlooking the fact he just wanted out of this garbage franchise? His GF gonna be happy to never have to come to Charlotte ever again. He never belonged on the Panthers

I think this trade all but guarantees Wilks has no chance of being the head coach next year. We just traded away literally the only offense we have and that's not even considering DJ being traded as well. Whatever you think of the guy, he's royally screwed.

So we got back the picks that we lost when we traded for corral, darnold and CJ Henderson. Absolutely brilliant. Fitterer is no better than Rhule.

Who was going to give it? We can wish all we want, but if a contending team saw him as the true missing piece, they would've coughed the 1st up a long time ago to get him, either in the offseason or early on this year with their offense struggling. I think people got delusional, CMC is great but is oft injured. The 49ers basically opted out of the 2023 NFL Draft, to our benefit. How is that a loss? Holding onto him for the sake of holding on to him because no one would give us a first is a fireable offense as well. That is the sunk cost fallacy that a lot of people seem to have on the board tonight. This trade makes us better in the long term. They're tanking the season, and to make us look good for future coaches, we need draft capital and young players. We had one but not the other. Now with one trade, we have both. It's not over either, there will be more moves.

Not all picks are equal.  Getting nearly a 3rd rounder as your top pick for CMC is not "a solid haul"

Seriously though. CMC was the only likable thing about this team since Cam, Kuechly, Davis, and Olsen left. There isn't a player I give a poo about left. Literally, there is no one. No iconic guys. No potentially iconic guys.
