I am pretty sure after next Sunday Baker can start the rest of the way and still will only cost us a 5th round pick.

Not sure but I wouldn’t even play it close. Darnold and PJ is a good enough combo to get us though the season. I’ve seen enough after his disaster start to justify cutting him at this point

The fact his ass is sitting on the bench should tell him they wanted someone who could throw a forward pass…to one of our players.

i honestly think he has post injury traumatic stress in the pocket. He looks nothing like the tenacious competitor I saw in college and all years except last year in Cleveland.

he is irrelevant now anyway.  They would play Darnold before him I suspect

Mayfield got Matt Ryan'ed. We won't see him again.

70% of snaps is basically 12 games. He’s missed 2 of 7, so he’d have to miss 3 more games. I may be wrong on the 70%, but I thought that’s what I remember hearing.

After next Sunday he would have missed 4.25 games. 17/4.25 is 25%. I was under the impression it was 75% of the games. So I am wrong here.

He’s absolute best move right now is to be a good teammate, support PJ, and show maturity in his current situation.

He knows he played poorly, so playing poorly and being immature about PJ playing isn’t an option.

So he’s doing the only thing he can, and there’s nothing wrong with that imo.

I'm impressed with his maturity.

Before the year is over he may be needed on the field again whether we want to hear that or not.  As long as he has that uniform on and isn't pulling a "Robby" I will be rooting for him to succeed.

Depending on how many snaps per game we average, that could be different. Under Rhule our offense was averaging high 40s. If our offense picks up, that number could end up in the 60s on a weekly basis.

I don't think we need to complicate it.  Pretty certain Baker will not be getting the incentivized snap count.  PJ was named starter even if all are healthy, it will take some games before we'd consider reversing the decision back to the worst looking QB of the bunch.

I think he'll need to miss 3 more games (including this Sunday).

Baker can only play 69.9% of snaps (the 4th triggers at 70% per Person).

The team is on pace for ~940 snaps this season. 30.1% of that is around 283 plays missed. Currently Baker has missed 103 snaps and needs to miss another 180. At a pace of 55-60 snaps per games that is 3 additional games missed.

I wonder what roster move they're going to pull when Sam has to come off that 21 day deadline. PJ would have been the obvious choice to get cut and sent to practice squad a month ago. 11 days left to make a decision I think

Someone posted it above so I assume that’s legit. 70% of 17 is 11.9. He missed some snaps the game he got hurt so 5 missed games should be enough, but 6 missed would be safer. Either way, still another game past next Sunday.

Point of order, sir. Isn't a punt an offensive play?

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
