Nicole Tepper to help with HC hire

For all we know, we could love her.  Maybe she told Dave that Rhule smelled of BS and because of her accurate assessment he's involving her more.  And this time we've got the GM in place.  Or maybe Fitt is just saying this because she'll be a part of some interviews.

Who knows, not much we can do with their process.  At the end of the day, Tepper said he learned some lessons per that link above so let's not get bent out of shape for no reason.  Again, not much we can do anyways.

Hiring an agency to help out would give you the exact same line-up of coaches. It is not a mystery who the top available coaches are. Three years ago they would have suggested Rhule as well. This is why you hire a good GM and assistant GM. It should be their job to find a HC.

I agree and to be clear when I say consultants, I mean they should help with a GM hire more so than a coach. Fitt isn’t the answer. We need a GM.

This doesn’t really make sense. Business, contracts, and football are all not only very broad subjects but very different and a specialist at one isn’t at the other.

To that point, I highly doubt she knows more about hiring a HC than a lot of people, Tepper included. Just because they’re owners doesn’t mean poo.

Overall there is zero evidence the people making the decisions are able to made good ones, in fact, quite the contrary.

However, there ARE specialists in making these kind of decisions. JR hired consultants that led to a hire that led to a Super Bowl.

However when an owner who has already solidified himself with the worst results a company has seen in 30 years says fug those consultants, I’ll still make these decisions and now include my wife…well it’s pretty clear to any average person this is just some dumb poo.

All I said was she probably knows more than most on this board. I didn't say anything about her knowing more than paid experts lol.

Try googling her...I could find nothing.  Nothing about education, career.

As I said in the other thread...I would like to hear that there will be some football people in the room.

I have less and less faith football people will be involved in this. Maybe Tepper's barber will weigh in as well. Probably about as useful as Nicole or Marty Hurney, maybe more.

It’s not that bad of a headline. Everyone is just grumpy because so far Tepper sux too.

What the fug would she know about football coaching? Even less than her husband. Great consul. Maybe Appaloosa will hire you as a consultant next. You probably know more about asset management than Nicole knows about coaching

    • You joke, but hasn't basically the whole team been in Charlotte this past week together? I'm not one to see the random dumb stuff players put out on social media in the offseason and think it means that's ALL they've been doing and not working on their game.  But it's a little strange that all this is coming out at the same time we're seeing tons of stuff with the team in Charlotte together, even if it's just working out and not even official team OTA's or anything. So he gets a pass from me saying anything now, but if he doesn't show clear improvement this season, it then opens him up to some retroactive criticism for some things.
    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
