Guys has a franchise QB and he has proven he is great at building his team. 
Also he has learned. When he first started with the Bills he was Rivera-like conservative, but over time he learned he has to be aggressive in this league and it worked out.

Why does the Huddle love to harp on the past all the time? He didn't make adjustments, we didn't win the division, we're not in the Playoffs. Who cares about WHAT IF. We have tomorrow to talk about.

McD has shown he will adapt and that's what has made him successful. Ron, Fox, even Rhule were all so ridiculously stubborn that the idea of changing anything must have sent them into a tirade. The one defensive guy I think could buck that trend right now is Ryans. He's young and really in tune with the creative aspect of the game, in part I imagine because of who is on the other side of the ball. I just don't see Steve in that same category. 27 years and still no back to back winning seasons. It's time to do something different.

I think it's unfair to put what happened in that game entirely on him.  He isn't dealing with a staff he hired, he was coaches down on defense.  He lost CMC.  The team overachieved really down the stretch.  As with all NFL teams, their were injuries.  Out of desperation he signed JNO, but it was too little to late.  I think Steve may get a raw deal even if it isn't intentional.  I thought he did an exceptional job and there is no doubt he loves the Panthers.

Wilks being a wuss actually worked out for us this coming offseason. He would’ve gotten this team destroyed 42-0 had they made it to the Wildcard. All the while losing a ton of draft position. Too bad that asshole had to win those few games that he did

We can blame Wilks for the long TDs to Evans, but honestly CJ literally half speed jogged in coverage on 2 of them...

If we play 2 deep safeties over the top, it would have just been check down galore to the TEs and RBs.

The lesson learned from that game is that CJ Henderson should never be a #1 CB

He was coaches down on defence because he fired the v. good DC we had to put his best mate in place. 

The defence regressed week on week.

I don't think Phil Snow was fired.  Do you think Phil Snow would have stayed without Rhule?  I don't think so.

Yes it sealed his fate.  Again, I love Wilks as a man and a leader from everything I know of him, but there was far too many examples in that one game of the inherent problems that were to come had he been hired as the permanent HC.  It was a painful lesson at the time, but it was better to be reminded of it now than for the next 2 or 3 years.

It sucks for him because I personally do believe he is one of the 32 best men for the job as a HC in the NFL.  But defensive-minded HCs are becoming a thing of the past.  The only ones that stand a chance to evolve with the league are the ones that are super assertive, proactive, and aggressive.  The only ones that fit that profile to me currently are Tomlin and Belichick a d even they are struggling without HOF QBs now.  Offense is the present and the future.  Period.

It's amazing how Wilks was praised for his in game adjustments when we were winning, yet when we lose, it's the same old song and dance.  Everybody ignores the obvious,  so they can support their own agenda.

If I remember correctly Brees had a bunch of middling seasons until they got a defense. Peyton Manning won his Super bowls when the defense stepped up as well as the offense. The year he had so many TDs they didn't win it because the defense was poor. You can get to the playoffs with great defense or offense but to win the Superbowl you need all three phases to be playing at a high level. Folks here like the balls to the wall style play instead of more conservative play which can come from offensive or defensive guys. It just so happens most of our defensive coaches like Wilkes are conservative so offensive guys look appealing. But let's be real the OC who interviews needs to have a strong choice for DC and if he is smart a guy with head coaching experience.
