REPORT: CJ Stroud is reportedly the “apple” of the Carolina Panthers’ eye at the moment.

To me he has the most Mahomes vibe of the qbs I've seen in awhile. I mean that by how he surveys  the field and pocket maneuverability.  Always seems calm and collected. Not calling him Mahomes but similarities  do exist.

I would give that distiction to Williams from SC but he is the best option imho as well.  Is he worth Ricky Williams/walker kinda package?  Hellz No.  This team needs able bodies so I would still keep the picks and positions for 2024 with Williams and Mayes.  Unless, Stroud drops to 6th-8th and move up only few spots and only give up a 2nd rd this year and few 3rd, 4th round picks the next.

Like they would leak something like that if it were true. The chess match started earlier than I expected.  You can cross Stroud off the list.

Meh. It’s not a hard guess to make. Stroud is easily the top QB on my board. Someone putting 2 and 2 together on that isn’t hard

From what it seems like at the moment, the Panthers would have to trade above the Colts to get Stroud. Although I thought there was no way Fields would be on the board when we picked, but the 49ers picked Lance, and Fields fell. Also people thought Malik Willis would be a top 10 pick last year but he went in the 3rd round. Who knows what'll happen. We have a long 3 months ahead.

The draft is a ridiculous 86 days away, we won't know what their plans are until there are 10-14 days left (if the same insider that has called the last 5 1st round Panther picks still has an in, but I don't see why he wouldn't if he got the first 10 picks right last year)

    • I mean, you see the games on the first page right? 167, 235, 171, 121, 103 etc etc. Am I a tad small? I guess if we are needing perfection, but hey this is a BY thread....... Id say in the majority he does have around 100 yards for 55 minutes, does that help? Just like the numbers they reflect hes playd very poor in nearly 85% of those game leading into the final minutes. I will also give this, he could had more GWDs if not for the defense choking.  I feel this is sooooo very clear to people that watch the games. Even the pure only 100% BY fans or his relatives should be able to see this as well.

    • you always push in to the weird position of defending people I dont really like, but you don’t know any employee is a bad fit until it plays out. A lot of folks here were excited when Rhule was hired. He’s clearly good at selling himself, he keeps landing head‑coaching jobs. We also don’t know that Tepper was the driving force behind picking Bryce. The general feeling at the time is that he was the best player, The Teppers part is mostly rumor we’ve treated like fact. And it was 3–4 years ago. Most of us have changed our minds on Bryce like ten times since. Lastly I don’t think he’s calling the shots anymore. He seems looped in, not leading. I worked for the Panthers for about eight months, and I almost never saw him in the office. Dan Morgan and Brandt were there every day. That’s anecdotal, not proof but it suggests Dan is doing most of the work. if you asked me today if the Panthers are going to pay Bryce, I dont see it. He has not played well enough to heavily invest in him.
