This is the point. From Rhule, to Cam, to "Stop Pounding", to bad turf, to a failed practice facility...

Hiring Frank Reich doesnt erase the ways Tepper has dropped the ball.

I don't really think anybody "loves" Tepper right now.

There are however some of us who think it's at least possible that he just made a major decision without screwing it up.

Rhule is a fuging douche who shouldn’t get another dime from the team ethically. Legally, the panthers have a bit of an uphill battle to fight if the offset clause is clear in the contract. I wouldn’t piss on Rhule if he was on fire but he’ll probably get his money or most of it.

I think the legal dispute here is above board, for the record. basic contract language litigation, and it'll go to an arbitrator, so there will almost certainly be a settlement of some sort.

I just think it reflects poorly on Rhule on a personal level. so in that sense, just add it to the list of other things that have transpired since he left the Panthers.

but overall it's pretty clear there is actual acrimony between Tepper and Rhule. parlor drama, yes, but it does make Tepper's "mistake" comments seem a little more emphatic, doesn't it.

Rhule is literally doing what every other coach would be doing along with everyone on this board.  Tepper owes him.  Saying it reflects poorly on Rhule is just fandom getting in the way IMO.  How bad of a coach Rhule was doesn't really matter.

Offset clauses are routine.  Tepper owes him.  Tepper just using his big checkbook to pay him less.  Hardly something to celebrate Tepper over.  Part of what is wrong w/ this entire country.  The mega wealthy using their money to screw people over.

Meh, this is literally just two douchebags playing a game.

If Rhules Nebraska contract wasnt backloaded in salary Tepper wouldn't owe him anything, but because his contract escalates every year from 5 million to 12 million by the end then Tepper ends up owing him because of the first few seasons being below what he was being paid here.

He's basically suing to get a free 5 million from Tepper even though his Nebraska contract per  year is higher than the one he signed here.

So true. It’s so funny how hated he is that people think he should just walk away from money he’s likely owed. I assume the $5M is the difference from his overall contract amount minus what he was already paid and his Nebraska deal. It’s offset language meaning he can’t get from Tepper what Nebraska is paying him but I’d think his contract says he gets the difference assuming Nebraska pays him less. If I’m owed $5M, I’m going to try and get it unless I breached the contract, which he didn’t.

LOL, there’s even people saying he stole money from “us” so he should just go away. As if someone other than Tepper paid him.

Apparently there are grown ass men concerned with how Tepper spends his money. They're also grown ass men who think that it's OK to call Rhule everything but a son of God because he's a bad pro football coach. They're also grown men who think it's OK tell people "fug you," because they supported Rhule, and grown men who have the nerve to tell people what and what not to poo on when half of the poo they do is just poo on people's posts.

I would like for one of these grown ass men to tell me why I or anyone should care about whether Tepper has to pay Rhule. Why do you care, motherfugers? Why? Are you that damned petty? Why do you not think it's a good idea to put this thing to bed and move on? Do you have a mature response, much less anything credible to say as to why Tepper paying Rhule five million dollars bothers you so damned much that you'd poo a post on a message board?

    • Would Morgan or Beason have been HOFers' if injuries hadn't derailed their careers?  I was not a close watcher of the game when Morgan was in his prime but I thought Beason had a few seasons at close to Lukes' level of play.
    • Franchise QBs feast when things are rolling and the tide that raises boats when things are going sideways.  Bryce isn't that. He's a complimentary player, that's it.  When the defense and STs are on point, he plays loose and it shows.  When we are in a dog fight and things haven't gone our way, he struggles.  It's that simple. He's not a horrible QB, but he's not top tier either.  So the question begs, is this worthy of a second contract?  The answer should be no.  It definitely is my answer. Bryce will never be a QB that can produce wins largely on his arm.  That's a FRANCHISE QB, any other QB is simply a placeholder at the starter's position until that guy can be found.   At some point the excuses of lack of weapons will be a straw man.  Heck, it's nearly there now.  I mean if he doesn't look even better than last year will we blame it on the TE position?  'Well if Bryce only had a player like Kelce, Kittle or Gronk on this team...'  Are we really going to do that?
    • When I arrived at college, I was 18, not too much younger than some of these draft picks.  It was not a huge school, but there were guys on the team who were 21, 22, 23....playing ahead of me.  I was seventh on the depth chart.  Those guys have been through a few seasons, were stronger, more knowledgeable.  I was a better raw player than some of them, but those other factors matter.  As I grew stronger, more familiar with the playbook, and learned what it was like to play in college, I gradually improved and with that, I rose up the depth chart.  It took most of my freshman year for the light to come on.  Had the coach thrown me into the starting lineup day 1, I would have probably failed.    And that was college.  So I agree with you based on my experience on a much lower level.  Frankly, I think that is why so many kids drafted to fill huge gaps bust.  The teams are desperate.  Anyone who looks to fill vacancies in the starting lineup through the draft is desperate.  You draft depth to develop.  For this reason, I say, "Let Walker start for a while."  Maybe Brazzell can be our WR 4.  Throw Hunter into a rotation and ask him to do one or two things.  Freeling needs some strength and he needs to work on run blocking.
