Draft a QB in the 1st round and sign this guy:

QUARTERBACK: JACOBY BRISSETT

2022 Team: Cleveland Browns
2022 PFF Grade: 82.6

Brissett was probably better than even the Browns expected him to be in relief of the suspended Deshaun Watson across his 12 starts, finishing the season with the sixth-highest PFF overall grade and the 13th-highest PFF passing grade among quarterbacks. Brissett might not be the quarterback to lead a team to the Super Bowl, but he is a perfect bridge signal-caller for quarterback-needy teams in 2023

This will most likely happen.  We need someone familiar with Reich's system.

So far this offseason we've been making practical, intelligent decisions and not splashy moves like previous years. Signing Brissett over the likes of Garappolo, David Carr or trading for Lamar Jackson  would be a very wise decision.

Guy has been to the pro-bowl four times so he has talent. Would you go after him and steal him from the Saints (possibly) and use #9 for a position of need? Would that be the better way to go at this time? I believe he was released out right today.

Yes...but the cost too much.

    • Lions were never going Freeling over Miller for the same reason we wouldn't have taken Miller had Freeling not been on the board. Miller is a career RT Lions have a hole at RT, we have a hole at LT. If we took Miller, it would have been for him to backup Moton until he retires and/or we release him, so the best case scenario is it would have been a wasted 1st round pick for at least 1, if not 2 years.  At least Freeling has a shot at playing this year without injury ahead of him, he absolutely can win the LT job if he earns it, but Miller would have never supplanted Moton this year unless he got hurt.
    • What up y’all. I like threads like this where we can stroll down memory lane. I remember the insane amount of site traffic pre-crash when we signed Keyshawn Johnson, 06 I believe. Raging about the Cowboys Christmas Eve loss in 05 (Peppers touched that FG attempt as sure as Cotchery caught it). When I found the huddle I basically had a first born baby, now I’ve got one in college and one in high school. Life comes at you fast, but the Panthers and the Huddle has been a steady constant in my life for many years.  Those who have been here, y’all are cool with me any time any where.    Cheers, genitals!
    • This is a weird post since it wasn’t like we got A’s across the board. We needed a QB and got a consensus top 2 player at that position. (I was pretty vocal that Stroud should’ve been the guy but…)  I think this draft we generally got better value. I’m not particularly optimistic on BY but another year in this offense playing with TMac he really needs to be a consistently average QB at a minimum
