Per Rich Eisen: “The Bears are long down the road to trading the first overall pick. The teams have been identified, compensation is being hammered out.”

At least with no 1st round picks for several years to come, we won't have to hear fans call for the team to tank halfway through the season for a while

This one was at least fresh in the sense we're not all debating the length of male arms ad nauseam.

funny how quick the in-season “eff them picks” crowd starts to care A WHOLE WHOLE LOT about draft picks come the offseason

In a very bad qb  year this is the nightmare unfolding before our eyes. The most polished qb is a little person and the most gifted athlete can't hit a broad side of a barn. The other 2 aren't remotely worth giving up future needed picks. Letting Carr get away left Carolina in a horrible situation.  Now they're gonna franchise the future for a qb who most likely will go down the road of Darnold, Fields, Mayfield etc....

Who's alt is this?

Not sure but I can't say he is entirely wrong either.  I don't know how they keep doing it but the Saints are in a much better spot than any other team in the NFC South, player wise, as we sit right now.  Young "might" be able to come in and play immediately but you have to wonder how long his frame will hold up.  The most gifted QB in the draft everyone agrees will need to sit at least a year.  Levis looks to me like Zack Willson of last year and Stroud will probably need some time on the bench as well.  Only one of them would I say lets throw them to the fire on day one and roll with them and for a QB he is small

seriously. had we just tanked we wouldn’t be trading any picks. and no one cares about 2022 results anyways. anyone watching re runs? Doubtful.

also if we just traded a bit more we could have had Herbert.

But no, let’s cry about picks and how we need burns to lead us to another 6 wins.

this team has literally tried everything in the book to address QB aside from a legit FA since they won’t come here anyways (that’s a clue btw) and it hasn’t worked.

Also I don’t include drafting one with the 6-10 picks we have had year after year because that’s just leftovers and worse that trading up imo. And I loved Fields.

just trade butns already and draft franchise qb potential and give this team a real chance.

    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
    • I hear you but yeah like you say, above average. His numbers were good. You’d think it would be a no brainer. Anyhow… I guess the new staff is also fine with him walking?    I hope if we sign him there isn’t some secret issue of his that led to him not being valued.
