Teams don't want to give huge guaranteed money to a guy with injury concerns.

Jackson overplayed his hand, besides likely making a huge mistake by not hiring an agent.

Actually called out a Clemson fan on that just this afternoon.  He said "Can you believe the ridiculous money average QBs like Carr and Geno Smith are getting?"  I said you have to thank that Clemson alumni Deshaun Watson for that.  You should have seen his face, lol!

It's not the same price. You can't ignore the 50m annual salary.

Is it?  A decade ago for sure it would be, before the twitter verse.  

Today, every team without a QB or in need of an upgrade has likely been asked by dozens of sports reporters (in a matter of moments) if they intend to pursue Lamar.  Is it surprising that they are cool to the idea, knowing what we know when it comes to salary, picks and injury concerns?

Chances are Jackson is going to ultimately sign with the Ravens after further discussions.  That's the best course of action for both parties

Over the past three years (so this doesn’t count the MVP season!) Ravens offense is sixth in EPA with Lamar 31st with anyone else. And his supporting cast there is one of the worst in the league. The cap will only keep going up, odds are overwhelmingly favoring the chance that in five years a bunch of teams (including us) will wish they had just given Lamar this money right now.

I get what you're saying, but trading picks to move up in the draft doesn't require room under the salary cap. If he's only willing to sign a contract that guarantees 45m per season out of 50, there has to be room under the cap to actually sign it. After he's signed, it can be reworked. That's the snag. It's getting under that can be problematic. Add in the Ravens can match whatever he agrees to and he can't cut a team friendly deal to go elsewhere, because he'd be bound to it when the Ravens matched. It's why we had to make so much cap room to make the trade offer for Watson. We had to actually have the means to perform to execute the trade offer.

This is a coordinated market correction being implemented infront of all of us..

Lamar is about to be made a example…

But all it takes is 1 Hasslem to go against his boys and be willing to take the cold shoulder that will come from stepping out of line…

Memo to the league and union, NFL is totally different from the NBA. More players, large sizes, and LOTS more injuries. 

It's a different contract world. 

Just cause Dumbass Tepper signed some rookie HC to a 7 year 62 million deal, doesnt mean it's the floor for ALL new HCs entering the NFL/HC. Browns went allllll-in on some watson bluff and with the help of agents, got him some insane 250 million guaranteed deal. That doest mean it's the floor for elite QBs, just like the Rhule contract. Browns&Tepper fuged up, doesnt mean the other teams need to follow.

 

 

 

 

Looking back and knowing the type of player baker is.......i do see why browns pushed alll-in....not to say its right, but i understand...

      Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.

      Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins

      I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
