Shaq Thompson update

Shaq's not a bad player, but he's not an excellent player. If he were an excellent player, he'd be traded for draft picks already, since the front office is run by Huddlers whose Super Bowl is draft night. 

Shaq is, however, an outspoken critic of some of Tepper's decisions and he carried a decent cap number, so he gone. Plus it's a double win for Fitterer, because he immediately downgrades at another position.

That's a shift. Thompson was pretty dead set against any such ideas.

Shaq balled last year.  Hopefully he is reasonable about a pay cut and stays.

Would be sad to see Shaq gone, is he worth his current salary…no, but is he a good linebacker and one of our leaders…yes! If he wants to take a pay cut and come back then more power to him it’s not like we don’t need him, we are thin at LB.

Shaq said in January that he wanted to play out the last year of this contract and retire a Panther. Said money wasn't the issue and knew others had to be paid before him. So this is consistent with what he had said since the season ended.

I'd almost bet, that if he is cut, he'd re-sign for a smaller contract.

I just don’t think he fits as an ILB in a 3-4. Def not an OLB

I mean I like Shaq but how ridiculous it would be to trade a 25 year old WR and overpay a soon to be 29 year old linebacker.

Extend it out a year, but also convert the majority of his base to bonus and be done with it.
