Andy Dalton: "So Josh, who am I backing up this year?"

Josh McCown "Look at all of these "sources" that know who we're going to pick!"

I've always wanted Josh McCown back in the building. He seems to be happy as heck and I'm happy for him, now put our QBs to work!

You assume you can trade to any slot you want. You also assume the qb they want will be available. You are also assuming you know the qb preferences of all teams ahead of them.  They ONLY way you insure your qb will be there is getting the 1st pick.

Agreed. All these scenarios have several assumptions baked in. “You could just get Richardson at 9” - there is literally no way to know that.

Like fit said, if you like a guy you go get him. Can’t overstate the value of controlling our own destiny.

I honestly believe our front office knows exactly who team sources communicate with and are playing games.

It would be a very easy thing to manipulate. Let the different want to be sources run with whatever they like.

We're picking Drake Maye with the 1st over all pick.   Yes,  we pick some one who isn't currently eligible . But we will own his rights in January 2024 and sign him then..  This is sorta like the Boston Celtics signing Larry Bird the year before and no one else could draft him after his Sr year.  So we won't have  a  QB from this class.

Per my source we moved up to first because 5 other teams were going to do the same thing.  ( Texans and Colts )   This is 3 D chess.

Per  " my " sources , I have made all this up like all the others tweeting out personal opinions who just want to see their own name retweeted.   NO ONE KNOWS WHO WE'LL PICK

It's going to be Richardson.

i Honestly think this is where we are going.  I think his interview at the combine showed he is an intelligent QB and with the proper coaching, which we have, will make him the best QB in this draft.  Mabye sooner than later.

I do believe we will do our due diligence and have each QB in for a visit and workout.  I think Reich and McCown will see the potential and take a chance.

I also think that scouts have his floor rated much higher than the average Joe that's watching games. The reason being is his physical running, which wasn't really utilized much last season, is something that could keep the chains moving his first couple of seasons before refining as a passer.

A lot of quarterbacks in their first year starting have poor passing statistics. I'm wondering how much Richardson would improve in his second year, in college or the NFL. If he can come up to a 60% completion percentage, with his running ability, he might get off to a faster start than some think.

I promise you the Panthers didn't trade all the way up to 1 and not have their guy in mind. My gut says its CJ Stroud and were trying to get Houston to blink and give us a high second round pick to take Young at one but I promise you the Panthers know who they are going to draft no matter what they say or leak

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
