Can we stop blaming Kasey

It was a bad kick but Kasay won us half of our games that year. It's no guarantee we would have stopped Brady anyway. The defense was fighting like hell to get 3rd down stops at that point. You know since they knew our fuging plays and everything.

I do remember him losing us a game vs the Eagles in 2003. Literally would have won if Karsey made all his kicks. So he was capable of being bad at the wrong time.

It's always been this way. Too many ppl think they are capable of out Trolling a Troll. Well, that and the fact that we have more than our fair share of Trolls to begin with.

kasay blames himself.  His words, "It's my job to kick it into the end zone,"  Football is a game that can come down to inches and the smallest of mistakes.  That was a pretty big mistake.  I was on the "laces out" bandwagon for awhile but Kasay has moved forward and we should to.

It is a little like people blaming Sam Norwood for the loss when he missed the potential game-winning FG for the Bills against the Giants in Owl XXV in 1991.  Nevermind the fact that the league average in 1990 for FGs from 40-49 yards was about 62%, in many minds he missed a chip shot.

I will never blame or credit 1 player in a 60+ minute game that features 22 starters and even more players who contribute significantly in rotational snaps and special teams. That said, Kasay picked a horrible time to have a major gaffe and will probably never live it down. Just a massive choke. We don't know what would've happened if he had kicked it inbounds, maybe they still score but maybe they don't. Doesn't matter as it's all runway behind us at this point. Plenty of other plays could've gone slightly different and changed the entire game as well. Kasay was overall an incredible kicker for us and I'll remember him fondly but won't forget the out of bounds kickoff.

      I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.

      When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
