Let's discuss Bryce Young's debut

I can't believe you guys are making me defend Bryce Young.  Whose stats are these for their first game?

I was mid on the Bryce selection, I didn't hate the pick, but didn't love it either.  Rookie QBs struggle.  Bryce, CJ and AR ALL lost today.  It's a process.  Calm down.  Now, if Young looks like this by the end of the season, then panic.

As I said in another thread, he didn’t make a single NFL caliber throw today to generate excitement.  That’s what concerns me most.  He had tons of time to throw most of the game.  Was everyone covered every play?  Not sure…gotta see film of that.  My gut tells me he simply didn’t see the plays that were there to be made.

yep, probably trying to look laid back because he was scared and overwhelmed. like I said, not in a good way. maybe there is a better word.

Richardson couldn't finish the game because he put the team on his back and was trying to will them to a win like a warrior. Bryce got rag dolled on his sack, if he didn't throw so many dirt balls and throw aways when we need him to push it, he might not make it through a full game...

Oh, so if you get "rag dolled" yet finish the game you're frail but as long as you are a "warrior" while getting injured it's a positive attribute. I'm also amazed that you can tell when someone is scared but not showing any signs of it because they are actually PRETENDING to be laid back.

would you rather root for a team whose QB was willing them to a victory, throwing TD's, running in TD's taking on defenders like a warrior to get a win?

or would you rather have a safe, boring QB who has no physical abilities or intimidation getting your team blown out?

Nobody was open. He mad two bad throws where he lost track of the safety. A rookie mistake he will be much better fron today’s experience.

I was actually impressed by the arm strength on his two deep attempts. Excited to see what he can do with DJ Chark healthy

think of like an 80's horror movie, the tough jock that claims to not be afraid of the monster but is actually terrified, but trying to be cool still ya know?

I strongly disagree.  He did a great job going through his progressions and sensing when time was up and needed to move to avoid pressure. If you were listening to Jake Delhomme on the radio during the game, Jake was gushing in his praise for BY.  Yes both of the interceptions were on him, but I believe he will learn to avoid repeating.  My only compaint is he needs to work on his deep ball accuracy.

None of that matters if you can't score points.

I see nothing wrong with having a Drew Bree’s or Tom Brady.

who aren’t gong to throw it 90 yards in the air or throw his body around into a freight train.
