We could have had Justin Jefferson or CeeDee Lamb instead of Derrick Brown. One of our worst first round picks in franchise history considering how good of a class that was.

CeeDee was on our short list of 4 night of the draft

Then again so was CJ Henderson but yeah

Not a single sack today by the entire defense.

Derrick Brown - 2 tackles. At least burns put up a tackle for a loss.

Ton of injuries and the entire defense has declined each and every game. But sure just pile on Burns just because our GM is an idiot.

Phins also out 2 starters today on the OL.  Including the LT who Burns saw

I've defended Burns but honestly I've been disappointed in not only his awful at times play but his piss poor leadership and decision making. I get being disgruntled with the FO because they are inept imbeciles but he's not going to get himself paid elite money anywhere with his flip flop act of talking all big in training camp about being a leader and then becoming Oscar the Grouch and getting mowed down by randos on crucial plays. If you want to be paid to be the guy on defense while the rookie QB is taking all the heat you need to show something. All he's showing other teams is he's a flake and takes plays off.

Why we are treating Burns as an untouchable is beyond me.  Patrick Mahommes is off limits for trade.  That makes sense.  Burns though?  I simply don't get it.

I could see if he was a dominant force, like TJ Watt or prime Khalil Mack, but this guy is not that.

He was very ineffective today.  Can't have too many of those in a contract year.

He came out in the Atlanta game with a huge chip on his shoulders and balled out for the first quarter.  Burns has been barely a blimp on the radar since then.

    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
