If you trade your best WR in order to draft a QB and then 6 games in are already trying to trade for someone to replace the WR you traded, you deserve to be fired.

Unfortunately, Tepper more than likely had the final say on making that trade and it doesn’t look like he is going to remove himself from making football decisions any time soon.

Even if Fitts were to be fired, who ever replaces him is going to be handcuffed to Tepper so I don’t know how much would actually change.

It really is mind boggling IMO that we decided to trade DJ rather than include Brown in the trade. Unless you're Aaron Donald, DTs are a dime a dozen. DJ was on a great contract for a WR1 too. I think the offense would look much better with DJ and Thielen as legit receiving threats.

After QB, DT is the position that is most fiercely recruited in College.

A good DT absolutely changes your defence. So does a bad one.

Depends on who it is + cost + contract

If you are able to pry a young #1 WR from a team and can guarantee they will be here for multiple years why not? Cost would be the big concern, you aren't getting a young #1 without paying out the ass.

The only scenario I would even think likely is Justin Jefferson from the Vikings after Addison is showing a lot of potential. Pipe dream.

I'm a big bowl of meh on Brown. He's fine, solid even. In hindsight, of the three that Chicago asked for, he's the one I would've been least upset about parting with.

What’s mind boggling is turning down that offer for Burns and not being able to extend him. Those picks were slated to be better than ours (Rams finished worse and started a fire sale) so we should have been able to parlay that into keeping Moore and still having our 2024 first and the Rams 2025 first. We’d be our Burns but with the $30M a year savings we could sign someone like Floyd and the top FA G to man LG.

It was right there within our grasp and now it feels like we’ll sell Burns to the first team that offers a 2024 1st so Fitts can act like we got our full set of picks. Felt that way with CMC like he was trying yo make up for Darnold and Henderson. How awesome is it to realize Fitt basically traded CMC for a 2 year rental of Darnold and Henderson? At least we aren’t seeing anymore Fitt is great threads.

    • You literally did it right there and didn't even remember it. Sorry long Friday.
    • TMac to finish up Feels good after pads came on. Physicality is a little different, playstyle is a little different. Refs let the players play, so he has to earn his stripes to get calls and just has to be better playing through contact. Focusing on staying confident and listening to coaches. Not much has changed for him, still trying to be his authentic self. Was asked about boxing practice he was seen doing. He's done that since he was a kid because his dad was a boxer and taught his siblings. Was the youngest and got beat up the most, but now he's the fourth of sixth children. Boxing helps with his cardio and being reactive with his hands to the ball + DB. Admits to struggling the first couple of days, hats off to the DB corps for making him better every single day but had his best day on Wednesday. Even the best get got. Just have to remain confident in preparation and abilities. Confidence will take you only so far, and that's where his resilience plays a factor. XL is authentic and great to have in the room. Can rely on him to be the same guy every day. They make each other better. Everybody feeds off of each other and when one person wins they all win. Happy to be a part of the receiver room. Was asked about how he was laughing harder than everybody else at XL getting his feet in the water off the back of the boat: "Man he needs to be stopped bro... He can't be serious but he was serious. It's all good." Playing against the increased amount of press he's facing in practice is helping him get more physical. His job is to catch the ball, so if it touches his hand he has to come down with it. Only catches with one hand if he needs to, but that gives the QB a bigger catch radius. Had a pregame routine where he did a 360 one-handed catch, but doesn't do it anymore. Working on being a pro: Getting into the facility early and getting treatment, eating better, etc. Just wants to win re: rookie goals. Anything he can do to help the team win. "I'm looking for to the season man and keep pounding."
    • DJ Wonnum up next Felt the defense came out ready to work at all levels and took over practice. New standard around here. Young guys have to know they're coming in to work. Last year was not the standard. Nic and Princely are fun. Different personalities but loves what they bring to the room. Sky is the limit for them. Nic sits next to Wonnum, Princeley sits next to Jones II. Allows them to be better mentors. Feels great and ready to go Incoom's athleticism allows him to bend and get low even to compensate for not being the biggest guy. Can set the edge. EDGE guys are helped when the ILBs can get home because it allows them to be a little more free while still in scheme. DB being back means his dominance is back. Can set the edge from the 3 or wherever he's at to make the runs bounce to the EDGE guys. Winning mentality and standard this year. Championship level from practice to how you live off of the field. Accept greatness and excellence with guys wanting to come to work every day. Not settling for anything less. Been in guys' shoes that are fighting for roster spots so he knows how to address them. Remembers not knowing what's next, especially as a rookie. Have a clear mind and ask the older guys a lot of questions. Has a good relationship already with Pat Jones II due to knowing each other and talking football all of the time. Can make hand gestures and know immediately what to adjust. Taking care of his body and excited to start the season. Getting it acclimated to football again by being able to tackle and bring players to the ground. Didn't know they were playing live tomorrow. Don't tell me it'll be "thud." Browns next week will allow them to hit somebody else and get a feel of what a different team is doing. Also allows the team to see where they're at on offense and defense. Ready to play football. Not worried about the QB matchup for Cleveland, going to play hard regardless of who is back there.
