I would fire Reich at 0-7

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I know we are talent deficient and people say it would be a bad optics to new possible hires, BUT DAMN, PEOPLE!!

A good coach can piece together a win or two over 7 weeks with a poo roster, a la Belichek this year. I don't care what it looks like, any potential candidate would understand that going 0-7 anywhere to start the year would put them on the hotseat.

This is not a kneejerk reaction. This team has been lackluster and unmotivated. Reich also doesn't adjust properly in the second half.

After this team loses yet another game (to the QB we should have drafted), it's time to cut Reich loose and promote Brown to interim.

Anyone with a brain could’ve looked at our schedule and knew 4 straight losses was a very real possibility weeks 3 through 6.

So my issue is how little they seemed to make use of the preseason. Reich is a notorious slow starter yet he still didn’t bother to change anything. With so many new pieces, coaches/players it’s mind boggling how anyone could just piss away all those preseason games.

Just zero urgency or awareness really

I get the rationale but it depends on how we lose. Best case scenario is we look much improved with Brown calling plays even if we go down swinging. If it's more of the same and things go really badly I'd ask all involved to leave the stadium and never come back.

If we look much improved on offense, it's going to be hard to fire Frank, only because I think it would be a lot to ask to take over as HC and still be OC/DC depending who was promoted. End of season, yeah. Move on. If it's a blowout, still gotta keep Frank and try to get the highest 2nd round pick we can by letting him run this train off a bridge. We're going to need all the help we can get. Won't make Chicago picking at 1 any better though.

    • The Athletic posted their goalie rankings for the season... The description of the tiers are as follows... Where would you rank Freddie and Pyotr? And don't cheat and look up the article. I'll post their ranks and the link in a bit.
    • Refs will be in their pocket. Always have to account for that. They are 20th in rush defense. They currently have the worst pass defense in the league. I mean I want to say even Bryce could at least put up 250 or more passing yards given that but man he looked BAD when the pocket collapsed against Miami and they had the 20th pass defense. Just can't expect to consistently get clean pockets like that in this league even with the better OL's. I'd say with this being a home game hopefully our guys will be motivated regardless. We certainly seem to play much better at home. We'll see.
    • They'd never do it, because it really would be insane to do, but if I'm the Commanders, I'd seriously consider trading Daniels after this season, especially as he'd get a HUGE return for him. He's RG3 part 2, with his body type and style of game, I just can't see how he holds up long term, he's going to end up having a seriously injury prone career. It would take some massive balls (or pure insanity) to pull the trigger on trading him, but I do think 5 years from now it would be looked back upon as a smart trade.
