If you were GM, how would you use our that first pick in round 2?

Weak class bro.  We wait and wait and wait and wait and when we decide we can't wait anymore, we  draft a guy in a bad draft class for that position out of desperation.  It's the Panther way.

That’s fair. If they fall then that’s our top priority. If not then idk how anyone would argue against O-line either. We don’t seem to have much success drafting edge rushers in the second so I wouldn't waste a pick there.

If the right QB is there, definitely QB.  The TE class is weak.  Interior OL can be had later.

QB is not the right move. This team is very talent deficient. We have to figure out an identity(we have none now) and build a roster for that.

There is no position on the team that doesn't need help. BPA should basically be all we are interested in.

The biggest problem is the FO and owner. We need competent people making these decisions and that isn't happening.

Im still a pure BPA purist.

There are soooooooo many holes on the team. About the only spot I feel is "ok" with the starters is safety. Worst roster in the league, I feel the gap to cards/giants/pats is pretty large as well. 90% of the panthers best talents are up for contracts/5th yr etc. Just a giant mess.....I fully understand the fitterererer hate, even with rhule at full power...

Whoever we choose must be starter-worthy.  We can't afford any misses or we'll be at this for two decades like the Browns or Lions. (We're already well down that road after recent drafts.)  A solid center or linebacker might not be as sexy as a shot at a might-be wide receiver star, but it will be a solid building block for the future. Like many others, I can't see any flashy free agents coming here in the near future so we need to find some hidden gems. Every missed draft pick hinders our progress and every missed free agent limits our resources. Very little room for failure.

Please don’t put another rookie QB in this mess. OL or WR makes the most sense. Try to build a bit of an offense and if Young can’t show improvement you can replace him in 25.

Young needs competition. It may not come from draft but it needs to happen. Its not about replacing him as soon as possible but having somebody on the roster that he has to show he is clearly better than and if he isn't showing improvement during the season they can step in and elevate the team.  Another year of this current performance is not gonna cut it.  its too much time, work, preparation put into a season but many individuals to ride on one guys performance. You gotta have somebody ready that can perform at reasonable expectations if he is still underwhelming.

wait.....are you guys serious or trolling about drafting a QB?

If you truly think that a.) we would give up on bryce after one year after giving up that much capital or b.) a second round rookie would look better in this offense as currently constructed please direct your attention to some pepper because you took way too much

To answer your question OP, I'd go BPA at WR, OG, OT

Can't say BPA and exclude QB especially if QB happens to be BPA.  I agree that we need help everywhere and should simply zero in on any particular position.

Assuming we fix our line in FA or move Icky to Guard with Christensen at LT.

Ima keep saying it....

Xavier Worthy n the top of second(WR)

In the 3rd: If Chubba is still on the roster, pair him with Jahwar Jordan(RB). If we need a true #1 Audrick Estime (RB) ...I'm not a fan of Sanders.

Ricky Pearshall in the 4th (WR)... and he's probably going to climb up every draft the closer we get but iirc we only have 2 WRs on contract next year: Mingo and Theilen..

Linebacker, and Guard/Center in the later rounds.

Worthy, Pearsall, Theilen w/Estime. If Bryce can't get off any better with those weapons, he'll never figure it out at this level.

If we end up with the first pick in the 2nd, I expect our phones will be going crazy. Its usually about 3-5 players with first round talent that drop draft night. I just don't trust Fitterer in the war room.

    • This draft is 2023 all over again, it's not hard to see. QB's who don't grade out as high first round prospects while at the same time, the following draft class looks to be loaded with elite QB prospects. Drafting a QB just because you need one (or making a bad trade to make said draft pick), when there isn't one worthy of that draft pick, is how you ruin franchises, just look at us right now.
    • I upgraded to the S24+ a few weeks back. Very happy with it.
    • LOL... Yet again proving you can't look below anything than what you see on the surface Mock drafts ARE NOT draft grades They are what people think will happen.  They are mocking teams taking QB's in the top 5 of the draft because that's just historically how drafts go regardless of the grades on the QBs.  Almost every draft expert, even those mocking QB's going high, have said time and time again that none of these QB's actually grade out as those type of picks. This is again, where I say you don't like to actually read what I have to say, because I already explained it. 2022 the exact same thing happened, mock drafts had guys like Pickett and Willis going in the Top 5 because that's just what teams usually do, but GM's listened to their prospect grades and knew they weren't worth taking that high, so they didn't. It's not to say QB's won't go that high this year, but it's to say that they aren't graded out as elite QB prospects.   And yes, I've never said I'm not a T-Mac homer. But me being that doesn't change that he will be the highest graded offensive player in this year's draft, at a position we haven't been able to solve since we lost Smitty.  Taking him makes all the sense in the world, my bias aside.
