packers actually have a good roster..bucs had a better roster than we have. we are going to stink again next season

Dude, we were going to stink next year REGARDLESS of who we hired.

Harbaugh and Vrabel aren't coming in with this roster and no first round pick and turning it around immediately.

one good think he may be able to bring from Tampa...Mike Evans.  He's a free agent next year and the Bucs have said they want to bring him back, although they make not be able to do that because of cap space.

The FA receivers offer very few options...Evans is one of the best available.  My thoughts are to sign one, draft one to go with Thielen.  And though we can wave a bunch of cash at him, I thought he wouldn't be interested in the Panthers.

Now maby he is..

It could turn out to be good, but I definitely have concerns...

- one year coordinator

- nobody else was pursuing him for a second interview that I saw

- would have only had to wait 3 days to interview one of the championship guys

- makes it seem like an impatient / panic / bidding against ourselves move

As always, I hope it works. In this case, I'm not so much down on the candidate as I am how the hiring process played out.

His offense also just orchestrated an average of 27.5ppg across two playoff games??

You can cherry pick and manipulate stats to gas light yourself all you want.

it’s another lackluster, disappointing hire. You will accept this eventually.

This shows Dan Morgan might actually have a voice, given Tepper wanted Johnson.

I think it probably shows one or more of the following

Bryce young didnt sell very well

Candidates were weary of tepper

Because it makes no sense to rush this and it is telling that nobody else even gave him an interview.  We likely were down quite far on the list.  He may work out and he looks good on paper but hiring now kindof raises some red flags about this franchise and tepper

Have to give this guy a chance before spazzing out over it. This hire showed me two positive things:

- We still believe in Bryce and will do what we can coaching/roster wise to help him out.
- Tepper isn’t making as many of the calls as some think. Morgan was just praised by Cowherd for being a really smart football guy. He knew Canales from Seattle, and obviously liked his work with two retread QBs.

People have to understand we were by far the least attractive destination for any candidate in this cycle. With what we are working with, It could have been a lot worse.

Let’s see what Dave is made of.

God awful fire. Worse than the Matt Rhule hire. Not qualified for the job at all. Bottom half of the league offense and dead last in rushing in his only year as a coordinator.

Much more qualified candidates including our last two defensive coordinators. What a punch in the face.

    • Oh please with the wallowing in victimhood I'm going to take my ball and go home routine. You were just in here referring to people as super weird haters because they don't completely agree with your borderline delusional spin on what Bryce Young is and isn't as a fourth year starter. We can hope by some miracle that Bryce Young will actually be able to lead a formidable passing offense this season without being irrational homers and pretending verfiable data and what we have seen with our own two eyes doesn't tell us exactly what he has been to this point which is someone who moves the ball at a historically low rate.
    • I am curious who's behind all of this though. A video and photos from years ago surfacing? Someone has a vendetta and is driving this PR campaign. I'm loving it, but I'd also like to know who said mystery figure is.
    • I say positive things about Bryce when he earns them. Which he has a handful of times. It is all here and on the record but your lobby won’t focus on that or the flat out truth inside of our critical comments.  It is a constant thing with him and his backers - one or two good things and people are trying to extrapolate that to proof we should commit to him, while ignoring or making excuses for the larger portion of his track record.  When he is able to consistently turn in franchise QB extension worthy outings the tone of the posts will reflect that.  I have already said that if he would play like he did in the WC as often as we need him to, I would be okay with keeping him.  See you don’t want to talk about that though because it shows actual fair minded evaluation not stanning.
