Panthers closing in on hiring DAVE CANALES

Don't know anything about this guy except his success last year with the Baker and Geno.

If Tepper didn't shitt the bed with his antics and bad decision making,we may have had a chance at one of the top candidates.

Now we have to roll the dice on a guy with limited experience and hope he can be a leader of men. Have the feeling Tepper wanted a guy he can force his will on.

I hope for the best and expect the worst...

Good job

I like the guy and hoping for the best.

My two main concerns:

1.) Is he going to be given time to install his vision. We've been trying to convert to an offense that's this side of 1986 and it's going to take more than one off season to do it, especially when you consider our current draft capital situation. Unfortunately, if recent history is any indicator, he has around 10 regular season games to pull it off. So does he work with the pieces we currently have? i.e. run a 1980s power run offense? Transition gradually? Rip the band aid off and suck for another season or two? Tough spot.

2.) He seems too nice and positive. Gives me a little bit of Frank Reich vibe. Tepp-dawg seems to gravitate towards agreeable people that he can steamroller. Hopefully either Bryce gets fixed or people realize that Bryce's limitations are the actual problem.

To be honest. I don't really understand the Canales hype.

Because Baker looked halfass decent this season? Baker is who he's always been. Streaky at best (fingers crossed they over pay him this off-season). The Bucs run game was sh!t all year. Hell we should've outscored them last game.

    • The last thing I will say, because I'm not going down this Bryce Young rabbit hole again, especially with said poster: You guys aren't the only people who see what you see.  Stop focusing on small minority of fans and voices.  The media has accepted Bryce Young isn't anything more than a game-manager at best.  You can literally look up "Bryce Young Franchise QB" and the only thing that pops up is that the Panthers MAY be viewing him as one, but no media outlet supports it.  The vast majority of fans accept he won't ever be the guy. It is such a stupid conversation for this reason.  You guys get so tripped up over such a small minority.  Bryce Young SUCKS.  We get it.   And feel free to continue to converse about it.  It is a discussion forum.  Have at it.  But can we just stop using words like "retard" to describe people who might not want to go as far as you all do?  Or acting like you have some unique ability to see things in the game that others can't?  There is no "mythos" around Bryce Young except in your head.
    • Only thing I’ve seen that says it on is TWSN sports which is notorious for clickbait titles and in the articles it usually says something like this is a prediction not a report even though the title of the article sounds definitive.
    • Sorry, someone probably said this, but I'm not going back over 9 pages 😃 QBs get an outsized amount of credit for wins and losses.  Bryce is the same way.   He was far from good except for a handful of plays.  That's not a recipe for success long term.  On the flip side, with the running game and defense playing so well, he's not being asked to do too much.  He doesn't look like "the guy."  I'm all for bringing in real competition with Bryce this year.
