"Only one year of coordinator experience"

Yep, I'm sure it is. I just think the experience thing isn't really a knock. We tried the college route, we tried the retread route, now we're trying to young hotshot OC route. There is no sure thing.

Eh, but the college and retread attempts were terrible decisions from the start. I have no opinion on Canales at this point, but citing Rhule and Reich as reasons to try a different approach isn't accurate since they were crap from the outset.

This is sad man. Tepper can't help himself. He loves his yes men with no experience. We are about to enter the darkest of times.

I mean you could be right but we did just fire a coach with plenty of experience in Reich.

Don't jump off a cliff man.

Yes, because one game defines the entire tenure. Thank god we didn't end up with Ben Johnson who could only muster 6 points vs the Ravens and 13 points vs the Bears.

Hence why I mentioned the Bucs being a below average offense. 18th in scoring, 20th in yardage.

I already jumped off the cliff man. I survived and now I'm in a coma. Now I'm just wondering if I will ever wake up from this nightmare.

Could not care less about this. Frank Reich had almost 40 years of experience as a player and coach and we saw how that turned out. Matt Rhule had 1 year as an assistant OL coach in the NFL and was just as bad.

There are plenty of examples of coaches succeeding and failing with varying levels of experience. If Canales fails, it won't be because he only had 1 year as a coordinator.

we just came off a coach with plenty of experience and it was the worst season we've ever had. Fitt had all those years with Legion of Boom and Seattle and he was trash too.

I guess we’ve gone with the he helped turnaround Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield, so he can turnaround Bryce Young after a woeful rookie season.

I’m not sure who I wanted to become our next head coach, and to be honest, I’m not sure it will matter unless the owner takes a hands off approach.

    • It's amazing how much yall can say the same things over and over and not annoy yourselves with it.
    • If you only look at measurables, Mingo and Legette might seem similar.  But when you actually look at them and watch them play, they aren't close to the same.   And this is coming from someone who is skeptical about Legette, although ultimately I believe he will work out.  I've just always disagreed with the comparisons to Mingo.   Mingo tests better than he plays/runs, whereas Legette plays/runs as well as he tests.
    • As bad as things were with the Panthers last year, we still had 4 other games outside of the 2 we won that we came very close to winning.  Could throw the Falcons game in there too, it was tied going into the 4th. I'm not really sure what to expect this year.  I don't think we'll make the playoffs.  However, we play in a very weak division where no team has a standout QB.  On paper, our OL should be good, and could be great if Ikem improves.  That alone could help mask a lot of problems on offense.  Should allow us to run the ball better.  Even if Bryce doesn't improve, the OL should at the very least give him more time to make the easy throws underneath and let a guy like Legette work his magic after the catch. And I think this defense in a 2nd year with Evero should, at the very least, be in the top 16.  I'm expecting our run defense to be as good as it has been in years. I think this team could push for 7-8 wins.  But it could also finish with 2 wins again.  That is just how the league works.  Jets offense was miserable last year, and yet they still won 7 games.   We won't really get a good feel of it until after the preseason, and even then, who knows.
