Didn't this news "break" like a week ago?

We interviewed him a few years ago when we interviewed Fitterer.  Then we interviewed him again this go around.  He's into analytics, has an assload of experience with the Chiefs.  Did Mahomes contract.  Considered KC's lead contract negotiator.  He'll replace Suleiman who we let go last week.

From the article:

But the Panthers are not done modeling their organization after others. New head coach Dave Canales is expected to lure some of the assistant coaches whom he worked with in Tampa Bay and Seattle the past two seasons.

Canales already is scoping out which Buccaneers assistant coaches he can add to the Panthers' staff, and according to sources, some are expected to make the move within the NFC South Division from Tampa Bay to Carolina.

Canales also is expected to reach back to his days with the Seahawks to pluck away some former Seattle assistant coaches. Two who are likely to join the Panthers are Pete Carroll's son, Nate Carroll, who works as the Seahawks' senior offensive assistant coach, and former Seahawks assistant special teams coach Tracy Smith, according to sources.

It was local speculation, possibly well informed info, but it never made any media.....correct me if I'm wrong

kindof sortof, their cap situation was in a position where they couldnt resign Tyreek

That was never going to happen. You can't possibly pay Mahomes what he's making and pay Tyreek Hill what he wanted and got from the Dolphins.

They did about the best they could with that whole situation.

    • Those last two plays before the last FG, we could have burned them so hard - but it is risky with even a better QB. But not sure they would have used that strategy against a better QB.  In any case Rico had no hope of breaking through that.
    • One more win and it matches Wilks’ win total, he was the leader of the last 5-6 years. You have to go back to Tepper’s first year where Rivera won 7 to beat it. He won 5 the year he was fired.
    • I watched a clip of all the offensive snaps. Young threw into some tight coverage and the guys made some plays on the ball. He also really missed some throws.  He has this middle of the field thing into a tight window pretty good and made three or four nice plays but he was just too inconsistent with his accuracy especially in the red zone. Today and in general.    That Int where people were chastising Legette for ‘not fighting through the coverage’, he in no way could have gotten to that ball. IMO. I think he thought it was going to hit the ground and didn’t see the defender coming for it. But not sure what he could have done. The camera doesn’t show the spatial relationship very well, I think the ball was way off. maybe 6 feet or more off target to the inside of the field.  Rico is a beast. And a very good receiver.   That was my impression without dissecting and rewinding, just letting the video roll. I did rewind the int two or three times to look at that one.
