Get ready for flag football

This would be the dumbest rule change ever and would take us one step closer to flag football. How are you supposed to tackle from behind. Just another way for refs to determine games.

Seriously? This would be ridiculous if this were to go into effect. I played WR Div 1 in 99-2003 and would have LOVED some of these rules. Basically, just let me catch the ball and if you touch me you get flagged. What a goofy crock of poo if true.

This would give refs even more power to rig games and hide behind the rules. They could call this on almost every play.

As someone who played RB in highschool I must say this tackle happened to me a lot. It's not something that can be taught. 

 

I doubt this rule change happens though the defensive players would riot.

Isn't the drop hip tackle how they have been teaching kids to tackle using the "heads up" approach?  This seems a little counter intuitive IMO.  I have thought kids to shoot in like a wrestler, drop or roll.

just sets the league up for more big plays.  Which is all they really care about.  

too many DBs just aren’t equipped to be able to both deal with the speed some WRs present…..and then also be capable of bringing down much bigger and stronger TEs, RBs, etc at the 2nd level.

I knew this was coming at some point. It is an attempt to reduce ankle injuries on the player being tackled. If you look closely at the photo in the tweet the runner has all the defenders weight on his ankle. I've heard it discussed leading up to this. Don't shoot the messenger.
