Xl did literally nothing for 4 years.  At least AD had boom or bust potential with a much higher ceiling.

I mean Leggette has a crazy high ceiling.

what did you want Leggette to do in that offense when they were playing grad coaches at QB or WRs? The minute they got a somewhat decent QB he started to shine and make massive growth strides.

I feel better about XL than Mingo. But I think Ladd was the best pairing for checkdown Young

From all the smoke around Legette, it seems Canales already has an idea of how he wants to use X.

While he (Legette) wasn’t my first choice, I’m very high on Canales so I trust that he’ll make it work.

Wish more people had this mindset instead of just going straight to bitching

They are hardly the same receiver. You know as well as I do, that you go and get your guy. Ladd is good, but somewhat redundant. He also has a bit of an injury history. AD is kinda soft. There were concerns with him.

Yeah we had a preference.  No big deal, I'll root for him--like I told you, I expected it, and have tried to warm up to it.  I'm just miffed at how obvious we made it.  This trend continues under a third regime for Tepper.

I wanted him to run decent routes or get seperation.

They visited  with him like 6 times it seems... its clear they worked him extensively  and something they saw behind the scenes really clicked.  I'd keep an eye on Rattler or even Milton as a late qb too but Leggettes value as a returner and Deebo role will be his role initially.

    • Cam would get in for a number of reasons, not just his 2015 season. He in some ways revolutionized the game and was an icon for a generation of future athletes. His dual-threat capability along with his unique mix of imposing size and agility forced teams to put more emphasis on big, running QBs -- whereas if he were in the 2003 draft, John Fox would've considered him at TE in the third round.
    • The crowning achievement of the best player to ever wear a Carolina Panthers jersey. So proud of Luke.  I'm working on plans to make a road trip to Canton this summer. Haven't been to the hall in about five years, and even in 2021 I'd vowed that if Luke were inducted, I'd be there for it. I was at his first pro game (preseason vs. Texans) where he recovered a fumble, I saw his first INT in person, saw his 24-tackle game against the Saints in person, saw his first pick-six in the playoffs in person, and plenty more.
    • Hard to say tbh. If cam does get in it definitely won't be first ballot. Speaking as objectively as I could. He had some very unique talents and skills, won ROY , MVP, had a 15-1 season, and brought the Panthers to a SB.  But he doesn't have much else beyond that. He doesn't have the career longevity that most QBs do that go in the hall. Doesnt have the stats or the rings either. So Cam getting in would be super reliant on his 2015 season, where he LOST the Super Bowl in. Add in the fact that Cam is a somewhat controversial player that a number of fans of other teams and media talking heads dont like or have mixed opinions on. Him getting in the HoF would be hard, IMO.  If he'd either have won the SB in 2015 or had like 5 more years of 2017/2018 (pre shoulder injury) performances, he would have a very solid shot.
