Trevin Wallace

LB, UK

6-2 / 241lbs

Grade Analysis

No grade analysis available.

Rating: 70.80 (Part-time contributor)
Pro Comparison: Kaden Elliss
Summary

Trevin Wallace is a stocky-ish but springy off-ball LB. Fast when he wants to be but really struggles beating blocks to the football. Will overtly avoid blocks to take himself out of the play on a routine basis. Not around the football much in coverage but demonstrated a keen sense of sinking in zone and has the athletic chops to run with TEs and RBs in man. That type of plus explosive athlete. Just doesn't always fully tap into it. Hip fluidity is good. Quality tackler. Rare to see a miss on film. Just needs to play with more authority/passion when tracking the football against the run. Has the explosiveness to be a stud blitzer but way too timid in those situations. Flexibility is lacking to work around the edges of blockers. Flashes of athleticism to be a good three-down 'backer in the NFL. Needs to crank the intensity tracking the football.

Strengths
  • Serious juice to the football when he sees his target
  • Fluid enough to sink in coverage
  • Awesome tackler
Weaknesses
  • Has huge problems beating blocks / tries to avoid them
  • Needs to play with more passion and energy

Wait, so this guy’s weaknesses are that he tries to avoid blocks, not take them on and beat them, and that he needs to play with more passion and energy?

How does that say “dawg”? Pretty sure Luke was a big Wilson fan. I’d take his word on LBers over Morgan’s, every single day.

You want to believe Dan Morgan wasn't putting the boards together? Ok. Morgan just sat back and watched as he let everyone else scout & write reports, right?

Asst GM just gets the coffee & drives the players around?

You think AGMs run the whole show? Ok. GMs and HCs just get coffee and drive players around?

Payton Wilson, Cedric Gray, Jeremiah Trotter Jr, James Williams (3 from the Carolinas)... you pick Trevin Wallace?

Adisa Isaac & Bralen Trice for the edge are still available. What is the thinking here?

Being “from the Carolinas” has absolute poo to do with reasons to draft someone.

Huddle hates the pick, so he's definitely DPOY.

So true except that the huddle has been way better at picking players the past several drafts. It’s well documented. We’ve hated what seems like most picks the past 3 years. When was the huddle wrong?

I'm sure he had input but obviously Scott was calling the shots. Do you honestly believe he'd be our GM right now if he was lockstep with Fitterer these past few years? Tepper might be a lot of things but you can't question that he wants to win. He wouldn't have hired Dan if he had agreed with Scott on every pick.

Brother I get what you're doing and I'm giving Morgan the benefit of the doubt at least with this draft. We will know what we have by the end of the year and if he can draft worth a damn.

But as of this moment by definition we are repeating the same rationalizations we made on behalf of Fitterer after Rhule was fired.

Wallace has 28 more tackles in his entire CAREER than Peyton Wilson had THIS SEASON.

Our scouting department thinks they are so fugg'n smart projecting guys at the next level (which they actually SUCK at) rather than looking at PRODUCTION.
