CBS Sports’ way too early 2025 mock has Carolina ….taking a QB

If we are picking #1 overall we might as well take a QB because the Bryce experiment will have been a failure.

I felt the same about this year. We were supposed to be in contention for a division title in the terrible NFC South. We ended up with the 'first pick'. Had they actually had the pick they would have taken Caleb Williams, so I don't even see the point of sticking with Bryce another year, other than the sunk cost fallacy.

Only player I’m looking at from Colorado is Hunter….

I don't think I want anyone from Colorado, I think the majority of their players are there for social media attention, not for becoming better football players.

I sure as hell don't want Sanders, he's way overrated and is going to be a headcase at the next level.  That's before even factoring in the Deion factor, he seems like he's Lavar Ball but with actual weight behind his words.

Same reason Deion is never going to be an NFL coach, he can motivate kids, he's yet to prove in the slightest that he can coach, and his schtick won't work on NFL players

I like Sanders. I think he gets negativity because of who his dad is, but Sanders is solid and tough IMO.

He really is a tough guy on the field

folks on here gotta have soon fun now and again

i hope Young can be all he is supposed to be…no one wins if he fails…he gets his shot this year…but if not, let’s not waste the time trying to make him be something he can’t be

Man I hope Bryce works out but Carson Beck would be my early choice. Guys emerge, but I've been impressed watching him. Dude doesn't miss. Not sure if it's cause he's got more talent than everyone else (the old bama effect) or he's legit. Looked good to my untrained eye though.

Completely new regimen in town, I think it's still unlikely to happen, but if Bryce does not show improvement this year, we are the worst football team again, and there is a QB taking number one overall I would not rule this out

I think he is far more likely to be the #1 pick right now. However I think this will be regarded as a weak QB class provided there aren't meteroic rises of people (Jayden Daniels, Joe Burrow)

    • Watching Williams last night, guy has an arm and nfl ability  i see no future with Young.  either a player has nfl ability or they dont  cant survive on 20 or less points a game
    • Fowler: Bucs 23, Panthers 16. Baker Mayfield only won a single game when he was an unimpressive Carolina starter, but somehow he’s 5-0 when playing AGAINST the Panthers. For the Panthers to pull off this upset, they’ll need to score at least in the mid-20s. With Tampa Bay relatively healthy following a mini-bye (and Mike Evans’ return is huge), it feels like this will be too tough a task. Kaye: Bucs 24, Panthers 20. The win-loss-win-loss streak comes to an end. It’s hard to trust the play-calling following the loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers know what’s on the line, but they also knew last week, too. It’ll be close; I just have trouble trusting a positive outcome after a defeating one on the road. Zietlow: Panthers 38, Bucs 35. This prediction goes against conventional wisdom, but then again, conventional wisdom doesn’t seem to apply to these Panthers. This group, after all, has yet to lose back-to-back contests since Weeks 1 and 2. I think they win this one to make Week 18 interesting — and yes, that’s even with motivated Baker Mayfield and future Hall of Famer Mike Evans in good form. Why not?
    • Sam developed into a different player after he mostly sat for a year and learned a ton by being in that QB room under Shannahan in San Francisco.  Then he went to the Vikings who have a poo load of talent and another genius level offensive mind at HC in Kevin O Connel. I think they genuinely built up his confidence in a way he never did in New York or Charlotte.  He would not have been the same player if he stayed here IMO. Especially if he had been involved in that disaster season with Frank Reich in 2023, that might have cooked his confidence for good.  I guess you could argue we wouldn't have been that bad if we also kept cmc and dj i guess.
