reality is Bryce needs to be out there if the real goal to get a bad QB as ready as he could get 

..and Young should be asking to be out there … his passivity is frankly overwhelming 

he finished, what, 33 or 34 in the nfl statistically last year and that includes backups that took over for starters 

we aren’t talking Mahomes here …we aren’t even talking Derek Carr.

CJ Stroud appears to be playing this week.  Jordan Love too.  Heck, even the folks like the Eagles aren't ruling their dudes out (and they had a joint practice this week). 

but yeah, Bryce doesn't need to be out there.

      People were upset about the amount he was getting, they thought he hadn't earned that type of money.  He quickly proved to be worth the money,

      We didn’t really have much of a choice, and were lucky to get Walker. And lucky to get Freeling too for that matter.     People say Walker s a better pass than run blocker but I am not sure that means he upgrades Icky’s pass pro   And my fairly critical view of what it will take to compete relies heavily on the run game being improved over last year. We weren’t that good after we got past the bad defenses.  (And a lot of that was due to the QB not posing a big enough threat if they sold out foe the run. But it is what it is, we just have to be better)   I think we need a Plus run game to compensate for other stuff.  So I am rooting for Walker

      What kind of contract are we talking? I'd be okay with extending him for back-up QB money. If we're talking top 10 QB money (because that is where every QB extension starts)?  I'm not sure there is any level of performance that he is realistically capable of achieving over the course of a regular season that would convince me he's worth it.  I hope I'm wrong though.
