Trading deadline Nov 5...Bryce???

Opinions:

Bryce didn't kill the team today. He played better then he has against a team (as bad as us). Was this the reason why Canales wouldn't commit to him starting the next game?

One of his best games he has had so far (not saying much).   With the deadline November 5th, could this be what they where hoping for as a showcase game?

Could their be teams interested in a trade and hoping this will get a better deal after this game?

I don't believe Young is a Canales type QB and maybe Tepper gave the ok to move him.

What u got?

He really didn't have a good game today. He just didn't look as terrible as he did his first two games. He still threw a pick, averaged 6.6 per completion and couldn't throw for 200 yards against the only defense worse than us.

With that being said, if he can play at this level the rest of the season and not look completely terrible, we COULD get a Day 2 pick out of him.

So, Bryce aint that guy, he's just flat out never going to be a franchise QB

Because of that, I'm in the camp of trading him right now before he plays another snap and hurts his value anymore.

But the more I think about it, while I don't think it would happen, if he somehow did show improvement the rest of the year to where they decide to give him one last chance next year, even if we likely still kept losing along the way.

That could give us that Top 5 pick, and if we're giving Bryce one more year, T-Mac would absolutely be the most logical draft pick we could make, as it would give him that perfect outside true #1 he hasn't had yet to see if it helps him turn a corner.

If you could somehow guarantee the above scenario played out, I'd be perfectly fine watching Bryce screw up again next year if it got my guy on the Panthers for the decade following that, LOL.

Having said that, he's a bum, playing him more will only hurt his stock, just trade him tomorrow morning for whatever the best offer is.

    • The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market.  On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size.   TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
    • I don’t  think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
    • in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft .  this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint  ...just saying
