Canales still believes in Evero

Says he still believes in Evero and his 3-4 scheme. Sounds like he is backing his coordinator. Do you think it was a matter of personal for the failures? Are you all willing to give him another shot with upgraded players? Who would actually make the choice if he says or goes?

The players Evero was given to work with at the beginning of the year weren't amazing, and the ones he's stuck with using now due to injury are even worse.

If Evero is actually calling solid games with sound strategies but the talent is so ass that people are incapable of executing the simplest of tasks, keep him.

If it's the opposite, move on.

Evero is not the problem. Anybody with a clear eye can see he has nothing to work with. Name me a decent player besides Horn and Clowney?

 

You need talent to be successful as a coach. This is for every sport.

You can't run an effective 3-4 without a monster NT and this FO has never really committed to the 3-4 front since Ron switched to it. 

It's not all Evero's fault, but there's plenty of blame to go around for this defense being this bad.

Dave spent a lot of time and energy trying to get Evero on board this season; he could have easily left. I think that effort alone deserves some commitment. That being said, this defense is performing poorly, and I wouldn't be shocked if Evero were to get fired.

Evero doesn’t believe in the monster NT, his system wants a smaller guy. I don’t get it, but it is what it is

Neither are very good overall so it's not that surprising DC likes him. Both have poor taste in players this year and both underwhelmed in their coaching duties. 

There really is nothing impressive about this team from top to bottom. None of those people have excuses large enough to hide behind, Evero and Morgan have been here 2 years doing poorly. Canales is such a wet noodle of a hire. All pompoms and no sack. Backing a 2nd year DC that leads the 32/32 D is not surprising at this point.

This. Let the head coach pick his staff. It's a key part of the job. Let him sink or swim with the crew of his choice.

I would rather make a change, but I am okay if Tepper wants to let Canales make the call. That would be a very good sign actually.

If people think we have the worst talent in nfl history on defense then MAYBE I can see giving evero SOME slack. We are close to being statistically the worst defense in nfl history and no matter how you look at it coaching is a part of that.
