Also, not sure if anyone has posted this but Metcalf is requesting a trade to a contender.

We aren't looking at that for a few seasons if we are very lucky.

This reads a lot like Seattle doesn’t want to pay him what he wants and he’s using the “contender” nonsense as an excuse to find a team that’ll pay him. It’s anyone’s game.

I don't know that it is or isn't but that's very, very rarely something someone says as a ploy. It really doesn't help him personally out at all.

If the Panthers did this, you can forget about signing any safety, DL, edges, or LBs that even the biggest fan can recognize.

He's going to get 50million in guarantees too.

Sure you could add 4 years on end to spread out the cap hit, still this doesn't make sense for many holed Panthers.

Unpopular useless opinion incoming:  The Panthers should trade Jaycee for the best compensation package they can get.

if he could stay consistently healthy, Jaycee would have been a hall of fame corner in the early 2000s.  But his skill set is terribly mismatched for today’s NFL.  What good is a physical corner if you can barely touch anyone?

I say useless opinion because I’m fully expecting some ludicrous contract to be announced in the next few weeks.

    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
    • Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
